Yes! Followed the instructions!
Problem is that no one else seems to be having this problem so the most likely cause is a bad install. Saying you "followed the instructions" or "did it right" is not useful since you may have misunderstood something that we could help you with if you tell us what you actually did. It would also help to know what countries you have tried playing and if any of them do not crash.

I'd imagine it ought to work for Italy as well.
No, because as gunboat says, only members of an alliance can send EFs. Germany is always in an alliance even if it is the only member.

Some possibilities:
1. create more events like the existing aid events
2. use 'switch_allegiance' command to give units but that does not allow you to choose which units
3. create events that put Italy in the Axis and then remove it again after player sends EFs

is the stacking penalty for planes 1.06c also included in the new core?
Yes, it's in the HoI.exe file and can't be modded.

Ok!
1. Clean install of HOI from my cd, it works fine.
2. hoi_1.06c.exe
3. corev084pe.exe

Playing as Germans.

EDIT: Well, I did it again and now it works just fine.......! Don't know why it didn't work before but who cares :).

Core Question

Just a quick q. I was wondering how many Para can you put inside per transport. Playing as communist american, i build 24 para, then was working on 24 trans. Then out of boredom, i decided to invade my northren neighbors. I had noticed i could fit 14 para in 5 transports... I quit the game a bit later, so i dont' have a save file to go check.

Thanks for taking the time to respond :)

I'm not sure if this is really a CORE question, but...I don't think you're supposed to be able to fit more than one paratrooper division inside a transport (ship or plane).

Wow, excellent response time. This is with Core 0.84, 1.06c. In vil Hoi, it's one to one. In core, i am wonder how many para per trans. I know i fit 14 para in 5 trans without any tinkering.

I'm not trying to be a Messerschmitt here (*), but why don't you just test it yourself? Surely that must give you the answer faster than asking in a forum and then waiting for a reply (and it's not just you - people do it all the time here)?

Anyway, I just tested it on 0.84, and it seems like you can fit 3 para divisions in an advanced transport plane. It's one per plane in vanilla HoI.

Thanks, that makes sence =).
Your right about testing it yourself, I would have but i am at work atm. I was just curious because i plan to have a late night game when i get home =. =)

I was a bit too fast, I just constructed another set of paras... and discovered that it's actually 4 para divisions for one air transport, not 3. Advanced air transport, that is - don't know about the other ones.

Anyway, what kind of strange job do you have where they don't let you play HoI? :)

transport capacity

Actually , if you will look in the Units folder in the Tranport_Plane file , the transport capacity is listed for each aircraft. Only aircraft and paras can load multiple units on a transport(carrier) as it where. The transportcapacity and unitweights would seem to be a system for figuring transport capability against a units size, but I dont think the mechanism is working for non-paras, or aircraft.

I did some number crunching today and I found that in CORE v.0.84, the first German jetfighters and rocketfighters can be ready by summer 1943. The Me- 262 (cool plane) could be ready by summer 1944. Quite historically as far as I know.

870 days (2,5 years) of rocketry research,
3090 days (8,5 years) of fighter research,
2160 days (6 years) of air doctrine research,
all going parallel until 1944 and resulting in the Me-262 model.

I also calculated It would cost an average of 36 IC in all those 8 years for fighter and rocketry techs and doctrines. That includes a rough estimate of the {8,...,25} IC usage for the application techs in all three branches, the actual planes you need as you go along etc. that gives appr.16 IC over 8 years. Of course I forgot one variable... It does not include the arty-techs you need to get the 30mm aerial gun. The total jetfighter budged would be somewhat larger since it includes both air, rocketry, artillery, and air doctrines.

Just a quick opinion:

IMHO, the air stacking penalty has made the game unplayable, or at least unfun. All of my games (as great powers) lately have become unenjoyable as soon as war happens and the airstacks come into play: too much micromanagement, too little reward.

If CORE can implement a solution to the air stacking problem (I proposed a simple one earlier in this thread), it will save HOI for all of us. Has there been any progress in planning a CORE adaptation to 1.06c's air policies?

Thanks for any news!

Yugo is a mess!

I am italy, in a separate war with UK and also at war with Yugo. As I invade and take over a bunch of provinces, incl the capital - one province away from annex - Germany creates serbia, croatia and I get nothing! What is up with that when we are not allied and Germany was not even at war with yugo?

Just bad luck on your parts. There is a small chance that the facists do not gain power in Japan.

Alright- You may have answered this one already but here goes...

I'm playing as France and I look at my convoys because my resources aren't adding up to the sum of their production. My convoys are only transporting half of what they are supposed to!!! When I increase my transports, the amount transported doesn't go up. I'm only getting half of my colonial rubber supplies!

BTW- this is only apparent on goods being transported from my Empire to my home provinces.

you only gain 33% of resources from non-national provinces, so that may be whats messing with your convoys. Are there resource stockpiles building up in your colonies?
