I think we are going to have troubles with the new penalty for air to air and cags.If you put 2-3 CV of 3 CAG's together and send them to sea,if an enemy enters they will scramble and face enemy air cover 1st.By -10% for each unit after 3rd,having 8-9 CAGs isnt the very best.
Still ihavent played CORE yet with 1.06b,only vanilla HoI.So if anybody has info on that please post.

Did anybody tried CAG combat with the new penalty to say how is it.I am still doing vanilla for the penalty so give info people :) .

I don't remember precisely, I was playing as France, but it is something about Poland looking for colonies, and trying to colonise Liberia, and if they succeed, then Liberia becomes polish, and because it has 1 victory point, Germany can't annex Poland without getting Liberia, which they can't because of the distance and the Brittish Navy.

This is something Halibutt scripted up. I think there's an explanation somewhere on the Wiki. Might also be some discussion in the Central Europe thread too.

Quick questions regarding CORE MP.

1- What is the diff. between MP and SP? Since .71 I have just played SP, so what is the diff now, less events, more Axis manpower, etc?

2) I can play the MP version in singleplayer? (for me and my buddies now have time to play again, so might as well hone my skills on the MP format)

3) Install in this order. HOI - 1.06 (until this whole 1.06b is sorted out) - CORE .8 MP - CORE .83 MP. Is this Correct?

4) Also should I install the pick pack, or is it in CORE/1.06?

--------
Concerning the Liberia thing, there is a miniscule chance that happens, and according to the event files, the VP in Monrovia should dissapear when that happens, maybe something is broken, or I am mistaken.

Thanks.

CORE mp is a special version for multiplayer games. It overwrites a lot of vanilla HOI files instead of working from a mod-dir.

Are you playing v0.82 or v0.83? The event was edited for v0.83 but maybe I overlooked something.

The MP version doesn't use mod-dir (so over-writes all the vanilla game files, rendering the original campaigns largely unplayable). It also has 20% higher MP for Germany, a change which I think we'll move into the SP game as well due to reports of Germany getting trashed.

The MP version can be used for single player games, with the caveats mentioned above.

The install order you mentioned is correct.

You don't need the pic pack, the relevant pics are included in the main C.O.R.E. distribution.

Discovered some more stuff and have a couple of ideas :) Playing 0.83 by the way.

As the Sovietunion I started kicking the germans as soon as they declared war, I think they must have lost a lot of divisions in the west and Yugoslavia/Greece because they where pretty understrengthed. But anyhow, here is what I noticed.

Canada sends volunteers to Finland even before the war with the Soviets started - perhaps there should be an "atwar" trigger in the event.

The Germans got the partisan events i Russia eventhough not a single german soldier ever sat foot i my national territory, they even got it while I was invading Berlin.

Sweden also continued to ship resources to Germany eventhough I had couped them to communism - they should at least stop when Germany is at war with the Soviets I think.

I think some of the fortresses in the alpes between Italy and France might be a bit to strong, if Free French or allied troops are there when Vichy is formed, it is almost impossible for Germany to Remove them, the same can be said when Italy gets conquered, the last 2 provinces hold out very long and then f.eks. in my game when the US annexed Italy they got the 2 provinces in the middle of my territory because I had'nt been able to capture it.

As for the ideas:
I was thinking, when the soviets conquer Eastern Europe or Western Europe for that matter, not much happens. Perhaps there could be some events as to what you wish to do with the conquered territory. For example, if all of Poland is controlled there could be an event where you get to decide if you want to release it as a communist puppet state, or release it with free elections (a democratic state) or just keep the territory yourself. If you release to many countries as puppets then perhaps the allies would declare war on you - esspecialy if you do it with western countries - or countries in their influence zones. The same event could be used for all the countries whose territory you control. And for countries like Chechoslovakia and Yugoslavia maybee you could decide if you wanted to release the country as a whole, or devide it into smaller states like Serbia, Croatia and so on. I could try to create these events, but it might take some time (if I can do it, as I am not very experienced in coding).

The other idea I had was - when I had conquered all of Germany there where still germans fighting all over the place, in France obviously, but also in Turkey and Greece, maybe there should be some surrender events, as I think it is pretty unlikely that german soldiers in France, Greece, and Norway and so forth would continue fighting after their entire homeland was occupied.

Thats it for now, I am realy enjoying this mod, you guys have done a hell of a job, I have fallen in love with HOI all over again because of CORE :)

Forgot one thing - I had a random event which made me discover "End of Great-Patriotic War (AI-SOV only)" which gave me alot of negative stuff - is it possible to avoid the random discoveries being techs like that one and the other special CORE AI and Human techs?

In regards to the Alpine forts. I will probably make some events soon that romove these if they are approached from the rear. e.g. allies moving north through italy. Axis attacking Toulon from the west. etc. The same was done to the maginot line if I remember correctly.

In CORE, when i click on a Army, you know how it shows all the divisions. Well the infantry, tanks, ect... button is replaced by a counter one. How do i fix this.

Sorry if i confuse anyone, i'm on medication.

Map Colors

I'm waiting for a CORE update for 106b compatibility; in the meantime, I thought I'd fire up a vanilla game. I totally miss the old colors of the CORE map (e.g., 'dark green' USA, etc.). I searched and searched for a way to do this, but I think the instructions for doing so are embedded in one of the CORE beta threads (with thousands of posts).

To wit, does anyone know how to change the vanilla HOI game's map colors to the CORE map color scheme?

I followed someone's instructions about replacing the colorscales.csv file as well as the country.csv file in my 'vanilla' HOI installation with the ones from the latest C.O.R.E. installation.

Nada. No changes. Just to make sure, I opened them both up in tandem in Excel. The ones from CORE and the ones from Vanilla HOI are exactly the same.

So, is there a simple way to achieve the CORE colors on the Vanilla map?
