Is this event included in C.O.R.E. .64MP, or is it proposed?

I haven't played the U.S. Is this event triggered by a request from the Allies? If so, what timing, or event, allows the Allies to invite the U.S.?

Terhune

The event is here since CORE 0.4 or even earlier - it happens if USA War Entry reaches 100 and UK is invaded.

Check the ..\mod-CORE\CCM_Readme.txt file. It identifies the changes Phil K made. Move those files from the ..\mod-CORE\ sub-directory structure into the corresponding directories directly under ..\Hearts of Iron\ and it will probably work ok :)

Thanks a bunch for this... did the trick perfectly.

Nicus, your reasoning regarding qualitative differences at the divisional level is right on - we want to remember the scale we're working with here. This isn't a tactical game, but a grand strategic game. You are correct.

new event files

I am wondering if it's possible for me to create a PhilK event file where I can stack all my events I have written/will write? Will the game recognize a philk.txt event file, or is there some alteration I need to do for the Campaign file?

This way I can just send the file into the Wiki for perusal and possible integration since Steel likes to do cut/paste.

Help, anybody?!

I decided to do a complete reinstall for core 0.64MP. After following all directions, I have HOI 1.05c with the posters/pics/leaders pack.

Steel, you posted to install 0.64MP as standalone on top of this, but when I run the installer, it gives me the error:

"CORE installation couldn't be found. Try reinstalling the application before running update."

You also said NOT to install 0.64MP on top of 0.6sp... but as far as I can tell, this is what the 0.64 installers are looking for?!?

Am I the only one having this problem? If so, why?

p.s. I get the same error message when trying to install 0.64 single player on the current 1.05c.

A while back I had deleted the CORE installer (think it's located in the Windows directory). I later tried to unzip the 0.64 EXE file into an empty folder so I could check on some graphics issues. I got the message you are receiving.

I had to reinstall v0.6 (which I think has the installer in it) and then I could open the 0.64 EXE file. Do you have v0.6 installed?

Hey Phil,
Just to clarify, I did a complete cleaning and removal of ALL traces of Hoi and CORE, then reinstalled after a reboot. I followed Steel's instructions on p72 of this thread to the letter.

I don't have 0.6 installed because it specifically says in Steel's instructions NOT to install 0.64MP on top of 0.6...

The installation instructions, when followed correctly, do not work for me. However, were I to install 0.6, I'm pretty sure you're right, it'd probably go... so are the installation instructions incorrect? If so, is it actually ok to install 0.64MP on top of 0.6, or will it break 0.64MP? Shouldn't the CORE installer be included with 0.64MP?

In CORE_campaign folder find the file CORE_events, then add the line with the location and name of the new event file, like:

event = "scenarios\CORE_campaign\events\fareast.txt"

That should do.

It can happen in special cases, like when SOV still control the Armenian terrirory, or Russian Independence was declared earlier (in that case Caucasus stays in new Russian zone).

Event should always happen when GER control all the Caucasus and Russia was not created yet.

Actually I don't do cut'n'paste... I do line by line integration with every difference highlighted. Cut and paste is what we did earlier and it's extremely error prone. The best way of submitting new items is to attach files in the Wiki Integration page for the appropriate version. You can do it two ways, either:

- new event additions only (ie when adding a couple of new events to a file) in a file named for example core_USSR.txt for new Soviet events
- a complete copy of the previous file (ie the v0.64 core_USSR.txt file with your changes)

The v0.64MP release is stand-alone and contains all files included in v0.6 + v0.64. I've not seen the problem you reported and would be very interested to hear from anybody else who has installed the v0.64MP version.

OK, so if I want to put up my End to GPW variations (for AI vs AI games), then I put in a USSR.txt file with just that event on it, erasing other events? Somehow I am thinking you just want me to add it into all the events. Which I did before and it got missed after v0.62.

I also want to setup the reduction of the French forts.

Here's what happened in my game:
Playing as Germany, I had control of Jerevan and Kirovograd. Russian independence and civil war fired. Those two provinces went over to russian control, then reverted to me after CW ended. All the others fired as expected, only Armenia didn't fire at all. Thus, I still got those annoying Partisans in the caucasus firing every so often. Could it have been a time frame issue? The USSR ceased to exist (Russian victory in CW) in Jan 1943.

Ok, I'll look at those events again... I suppose there was something wrong with the fact that those provinces were given you back after the Russian Civil War, Russia should have keep those OR right after you get those back, Armenia Independence should fire.

Well, at least there were no db mismatches and CTD's... ;)

I was wondering if there was an ETA on 0.7. I'm planning on doing an AAR when that comes in. Also, if you need help with anything that doesn't require someone to know how to program just e-mail me at Daniel_Michelson@hotmail.com

crash usually in 1940, maybe something to do with AI carriers?

i apoligize in advance if this forum isn't for HoI with the CORE mod. i will post here anyways and hopefully will get feedback.

my comps stats:
- I am using HoI, with C.O.R.E. mod, patch 1.05b and CORE v. .64
- I am running WIN XP Pro with service pack 1 (5.1 build 2600)
- Home built system, AMD Athlon XP 2600+
- 256MB PC2700 DDR RAM
- 7GB free on HD
- Video: GF4 ti4200, 128MB DDR, driver 6.13.0010.3082
- directx 9.0
- i use a compaq optical mouse (USB) and internet compaq keyboard (USB), no other additional hardware to note

ok, this is the problem

i play the game with CORE. everything is good til around 1940 in every game. when the game hits around july 1940 or so it crashes to desktop. when you load the saved game back up and try again, it is impossible to get past this date that it crashes at.

now, the same problem has come up on the Road to War forum. someone said it could be when the AI loads something onto an aircraft carrier. i dont know how accurate it is, but i think it was worth mentioning.

i'll post any other info you need. vanilla HoI is running fine, no problems there...
