Just checked the triggers for Japan involvement in Bitter Peace...

Well, the events are chosen based on the existence of JAP-GER alliance. So, if the alliance exists, JAP will gain a lot of new territories, while when there is no alliance, JAP get Sakhalin and Commodore Islands (simulation of the limited involvement).

My respect to Yogi has risen even more.

C.N, but the event doesn't check if JAP is at least atwar with SOV. The guy has just told me that JAP and SOV were not atwar, and JAP received the provs anyway. I've checked the event and it needs some more triggers. It should check that JAP is NOT atwar with GER too, just in case. :D

Maybe it's better to include an invent "Tripartite Pact broken" which triggers if Japan and Germany ever go to war after the pact has been sign. Other triggers are possible.
That way you can use this event in any future trigger you want to design and do not have to come up with complicated triggers for each single event involving Japan and Germany.

Well, the lack of war is IMO not the problem - I believe if Germans signed Tripartite Pact (trigger?) with Japan and even if Japan not participated in war vs USSR, they would get the Sakhalin anyway.

But the NOT = war { GER JAP} seems reasonable. :D

Mmmm, good idea! But what happens if GER and JAP go to war and they never signed the tripartite pact? This would still require a standard NOT = { war = { country =a country = b } } trigger to deal with it.

Germany couldn't keep Japan from demanding these two provinces, they are far too far away, and the USSR after a bitter peace could hardly stand against such minor demands from Japan.
Maybe these two ceedings should be handled by two different events for more clearance.

US Destroyers-Classes

Hi- I play US. Just d/l CORE a few days ago & am enjoying it. My ? is, I can build Farragut class DDs, but do not seem able to go on to later classes.(One of the things I really enjoy in CORE is the use of CL designations for the Brooklyns, etc.) I've gone all the way up to early '41 without being able to get to Mahan, Sims or later classes. Am I missing something in the Naval techs, or is this a game limitation? As an example I can build BBs into Iowa class & CVs into Essex class. Why not DDs? Suggestions? Thanks, Hugh Browne :)

CORE versions & installation

Hi- When I d/l CORE, I thought I had done v0.64b. However, when I load game, the opening page( showing Ike's D-Day message says v0.6. When I tried to load v0.64b, I get a message saying I have to uninstall 0.64 & then load 0.64b. Is this correct? Thanks, Hugh Browne :)

One of 2 options contains this language-" "Help them... create convoy to Cayenne.... It then says- "Unknown string wanted." I don't understand what this means. Anyone? Thanks, Hugh Browne :)

Easy on starting new threads there Hugh. they'll just "disappear" by Syko magic into another existing thread. ;) But to answer your question, the "unknown string" is actually supplies in a convoy. I forget exactly why that comes up. Error in text.csv maybe?

Off to the Naval Mod thread I think. Or maybe general discussion. Only teh Syko knows.....

It sounds like you haven't researched the right naval techs to get the newer classes. Getting the big boats is fairly easy, but the DD's and such require ASW techs, as well as advanced naval designs, and propulsion. Check out the tech trees in the research screen.

O.64B ? Did I miss a release somewhere? anyway, on the load screen you will only see 0.6 as the version. If you followed the directions correctly, when installing 0.64, you have 0.64.

Yup, not sure if it's corrected in the 0.7, we have to check.

Syko, where are you? :)

Besides as far as I know, MDow is big fan of BB's, so maybe he intentionally blocked the path to the smaller boats? ;)

Ground control to Syko, we are ready for moving the thread... :D

Occupying Russia

Greetings again, Mod-gods of C.O.R.E. My first game as germany with your latest MOD, when I go to war witht he Soviets, it asks me what course of action I want to take. THere are three options (the names of which escape me at the moment) but one is esentially "Take it and kick the Russians out" and the other is more moderate, and the third is toned down evern more. When i hover above the choices, each triggers an event, but i have no idea what the events do. I looked for a while here, but trying to find one event in this awesome mod is like looking for the needle in the proverbial haystack.

What are the affects of my decision?

Sorry if I've stepped on toes. I have gone to FAQ before I've posted. Hugh
