go to the Hearts of Iron Directory then click on HOI.exe and holding the right mouse button down drag it to your desktop.

Tell the system to Create Shortcut.

Then right click on the new shortcut you just made and select properties

For the Target field put the patch to the HOI.exe file in quotes then outside of the quotes to the right of it put mod-core

The rest of the fields just leave them how they already are.

Re the Turkish claims if it goes fascist - there was a small Turkish ultranantionalist movement during WWII that felt Turkey should align itself with Germany. It also called for the return of territories with large Turkish/Kurdish minorities back to Turkish control. These are the basis for the claims reflected in the Turkish fascists gaining power event. Official Turkish policy under Inonu was not to claim territory outside the borders established at Lausanne in '23, hence why they are not part of Turkey from the start.

Actually they were thrown in prison - they did have some support among the urban population and segments of the military so the Inonu regime had to tread carefully. One of the men thrown into prison in 1944 would later establish a neo-Fascist party in Turkey in the 1970s that would cause all sorts of havoc leading to the military coup in 1980. He would resurface in the 1990s and shortly before his death lead his party to become part of a ruling coaltion government (the one that would eventually lose power to the current party in power in Turkey today). I wrote my MA thesis in 1996 on the party of the 1970s and in my conclusion declared that as a political force ultranationalism's influence in future Turkish politics would be minimal. Misguessed that one badly :wacko:

Core

I've been playing HOI for sometime now and have followed some of the threads regarding CORE. Frankly i havent really tried it yet.

1. Is it really that good? If so, in what way?
2. If i install CORE, will it affect upgrade packages from Paradox?

I think you would find it good if you like having large numbers of historical events and a tech tree (and units) that go into more depth that vanilla HoI. You can take a look at the guestbook (http://core.roadtowar.com/guestbook/) for some comments by C.O.R.E. players.

If you have some HDD space to spare then you can simply create a copy of your \Hearts of Iron folder and install C.O.R.E. on the copy, leaving your vanilla HoI completely untouched. I would recommend that method.

However even if you don't do that, the only original file that is changed is the province.csv and you can easily restore that as we create a backup (province.bak.csv). You can rename that file back to province.csv and apply any new patches from Paradox just as normal, however I would not recommend doing so as it may break C.O.R.E. (any given version of C.O.R.E. is written for a specific HoI configuration, ie patch level and leader pack).

At some point in the near future (possibly today) my ISP account will be terminated. They've received the paperwork and it will happen whenever their engineers nukes the account. This means that I will ne longer be able to receive email on any of the Demon addresses previously posted in this forum. The best way of contacting me for C.O.R.E.-related matters will be via this forum, the wiki or via PM (all of which I will endeavour to check regularly). Please do not attempt to send me email as it may not reach me before the account is nuked.

I'm fairly confident that my account will be re-activated and normal service resume with 15 days. I'll post here again to confirm when that's happened. Until then Generalisimo has kindly agreed to provide support to anybody who is having problems with a C.O.R.E. game.

I'm playing CORE v0.64

I got a bit active in CORE development about eight months ago I guess, but stopped playing HOI, and as a result stopped messing around with CORE. I got back into lately, and I was playing as the Nationalist Chinese, when I noticed that I can't build transports. Is the bug, or a design choice? I wasn't even trying to conquer Japan, just Taiwan. Coudl someone from the Asia team comment on this? Is the tech tree broken somehow? I can build BBs, so it would seem I could build a transport.

Had you researched battleships or did you have them from the beginning? If you had them from the beginning something is wrong. I will look at that...

To answer your real question. You have to research Transport Design. That will enable transport construction with the Small Coastal Steamer. If you went straight for battleships (bypassing transports) then you wouldn't have gotten the ability to make amphibious attacks. MDow

There is no ETA yet, but we have run first integration tests.
Next test stages can take some time - 0.7 is heavily modified compared to 0.6, so keeping high quality standard requires long testing.

Danger ..Trojan files !!!

I ve just downloaded Core 0.6 and Core0.64 and i have to warn you that my antivirus program (Antivir) has detected the trojan called BDS.IRC.MUTIN.3 in the two files !!!

I was disapointed to see that ..I d like to hear from others about that ..

Does'nt this come up like once a week or so. If I recall it has something to do with the antivirus utility AntiVir or am I mistaken, for I am not going to say for sure. I have Norton and have never seen this myself.
