I have a patch hunger, and want to try out the new tweek pack 1.05c. Can i play it with the latest CORE? do not want to go back to the vanilla tech tree and events. Do i have to wait until 0.6?

Using C.O.R.E. v0.532 with HoI 1.05c is not recommended or supported and will cause CTD problems under some circumstances.

C.O.R.E. v0.6 is in final testing with HoI 1.05c and barring the discovery of serious new problems should be released quite soon.

Actually I don't think you need 1.05b for CORE. The only thing CORE uses from it is the hoi.exe and that is included in the post-1.05b CORE patch. (This also means if you install 1.05c or a 'No Time Limit'-patched 1.05b they will be overwritten by the CORE patch).

CORE HOI - Variable events for leaders

I'm currently playing SU (1.05b, CORE 0.532) and last night got the Khasan (sp?) Lake event. It stated that the Japanese probed into SU territory at Lake Khasan, and because the SU troops were considered unprepared, Stalin had Gen. Blucher executed. I was prompted to decide whether or not to execute Blucher, and I chose not to.

The reason that I chose No is that Blucher is commanding an army on the Polish border, and has nothing to do with the troops near Lake Khasan. I know this event is based on history, but is there any way to make events like this variable so that, for example, Blucher is replaced with the commanding officer in Vladivostok? I can imagine that there are other events out there similar to this.

Another possibility would be to only make such events fire IF the leader in question is present in the province or region. However, I think the variable leader name is a nicer touch.

Sadly, no and no. There's no triggers for leader and location.

Well, I'm no modder, so I don't know what is involved with it. And it appears that CORE 0.6 will be out soon, so it's not likely that any new suggestions can be added this late. But how about for future releases?

Is modding simply a matter of writing event texts, or is there a programming component to it? I know enough programming to think that it would be a simple matter to add an IF...THEN statement somewhere in there for some of these events. What do you think, Steel?

Loaded it up and it ran fine for a couple of months. Suggest you just reload and continue playing... There's not much I can do if the game doesn't crash on load or within a reasonable time after (ie some months).

It stated that the Japanese probed into SU territory at Lake Khasan, and because the SU troops were considered unprepared, Stalin had Gen. Blucher executed. Another possibility would be to only make such events fire IF the leader in question is present in the province or region. However, I think the variable leader name is a nicer touch.
