The official "installer guy" (SteelOriginally posted by Raen
I guess this is where I'm supposed to ask this. It's probably been asked before, but I don't feel like looking through 26(!) pages of replies to find it.
I have an existing installation of 1.05 and v0.51 which I would like to upgrade to 1.05b and v0.52. Do I simply install 1.05b and then v0.52 on top of my existing installation, or uninstall C.O.R.E., install 1.05b and then v0.50, v0.51, v0.52, or do I have to uninstall everything or what?
Reason I ask is that my first attempt ended in disaster, so I'd like to know the official way to do it.
Thanks.
but, i leave you an advice from the CORE web site:
IMPORTANT:
The v0.52 release of C.O.R.E. can be installed on an existing installation of HOI 1.05 with C.O.R.E. v0.51 already installed. This patch contains the new HoI.exe from the 1.05b patch and other relevant Paradox changes. This will allow you to play C.O.R.E. games with the new patch level, but does not fully update the Paradox campaigns.
If you want to be able to play regular HoI as well as the C.O.R.E. campaign then please make a clean install of HoI + 1.05 patch +1.05b patch, followed by C.O.R.E. v0.5 + v0.51 patch + v0.52 patch.
This patch is not for the C.O.R.E. v0.51MP release. If requested, I'll make a patch for the MP version.
Important: Install the patch to your \Hearts of Iron\ directory (ie where your HoI.exe file is located).
It is not recommended that this patch is used with save games from earlier versions of HoI or C.O.R.E. If you continue old games under the new patch there will be some discrepancies in unit stats between existing units and new build units.
