I did send the military mission to China, and they returned when I recognized Manchukuo. The addition of the USSR and USA aid to china should help, but ComChi can still be a problem. The Communist sieze power events never fired in either game, as they never had enough time. :(

I'm just now testing some events for NatChi and ComChi, will take a while to get the balance right but so far it looks good :D

About Norway/Denmark it sounds like I've missed a sleepevent command, will take a look at that. Thanks for the feedback :)

Hi, I've been away for a while as I had quite a lot of connection problems but they seem to be fixed now. I saw 0.2 is already released and I'll check that ASAP. Altough I haven't been able to go online I was able to work a bit on the AI; I'm almost done with a pre-war AI for all of Europe (troop positioning, influencing and building) but the main thing wich is almost impossible to program are large ship (carrier/battleship/cruiser building) constructions. I suggest making them a bit abstracted, in events. For example if you know a Scharnhorst battleship takes 360 days of 5 IC's to finish and it was finished on 1st January 1938 we could allow an event wich pops up on 1st of January 1937 with a trigger for AI only wich would remove 5 IC's from Hamburg or whatever place it was built. Then, a year later another event would pop up wich would add 5IC to Hamburg and wich would give the Germans a battleship down there; maybe it would need some more prerequisites and affect dissent a bit as well??? This would greatly help the AI in naval construction, please consider it and post your comments on it.

French outrage outrageous!!

Seen this a couple of times: Germans stomp through France, occupies most of it, suddenly the event "French citizens outraged by german aggression" fires, all former french territory is returned to France, AND ALL GERMAN TROOPS IN THESE TERRITORIES DISAPPEAR !! In the latest game half the german army was eliminated, including most of the panzer.

Haven`t found the file, so I haven`t checked it in detail, but this seems like a major bug. Anybodt else seen this.

Oh, and reoccupation of Rhineland fires jan 1 or 2 1936 every time?? Bit early...

CORE rules, keep up the good work, and I`ll keep on bitching about the bugs:D

about china being overwhelmed by japanese forces ... ive been whatching one game, and the japanese were stalled be the chinese and eventually pushed back (with some help of the russians in the final phase).

however, both the chinese forces and the russians could have crushed the japanese on the asian mainland. i guess they arent allowed too?

Update on new China events - with only 6 divisions (starting force) ComChi (me!) is still holding out in 1943 :D although I've not done anything except build flak. Nationalist China has also held a good line, looking pretty historical. Might be a fluke of course, I'll see if it repeats in a few more games and then get back on getting the AI to play like I do ;)

Morbutor, about China I've coded the AI to be mainly concerned with garrisoning China rather than go on world conquest. This is in line with the historical situation of regional warlords, there was no OKW or STAVKA for China.

Doc2, I haven't seen any effects like that from those events. Could you check your history.txt and see if something else was happening around the same time (maybe an annexation or Yugoslavian events). Thanks.

Emperor Dennis, welcome back :D I've done some work on the Italian AI (garrison priorities, admiral section etc). Check it out and see how it fits with your work. Other than that I've stayed out of Europe.

The problem appears to be memory exhaustion. I have removed "Post_War.txt" and "core_Test.txt". At the time of the crash the mem usage was 1900 MB.

Yes, the plan is absolutely to get an 0.21 out the door. We were hoping to get the Yugoslavian event chain fixed but will just remove it for the now.

Generalisimo will send you the files, can you build it as 0.21 release and send it back to him? Thanks! :D For the changelog this release is to fix:

- Hang and Virtual memory errors with Post_War.txt and core_Test.txt
- Allies joining Axis due to Yugoslavian event chain in bolted.txt
- CTD due to core_UK.txt events (minister_loyalty bug)
- CTD due to core_Germany.txt events (wakeleader bug)
- Updates to some AI files

Hmm, Nachinus also reported hangs despite disabling those 2 event files. I've not been able to replicate it here at all, basically once I took out those 2 files the issue was resolved for me.

Nachinus, are you still seeing the hang issue or did you find a workaround? I think you mentioned playing at below max speed, did this fix it?

Yes, the Soviet AI needs updating. I think Emperor Dennis has been working on that.

Just to summarize the last few days activity... I've received a lot of email, if I missed responding to anybody then please drop me a reminder if you still have problems with new games despite installing the hotfixes made available.

There's been some bugs reported, the most serious are already listed in the bug list thread (I will not repeat them here) but here's the rest:

- Tannu Tuva events have the wrong dissent effect in B choice. Owner: Steel. Fix in test.

- SOV claims on FIN for Petsame not transferred in Peace event for Winter War. Unclear if this should be changed. Owner: (Steel?)

- Event 272070 (Bribing the lion) has no tooltip for A or B choice. Enhancement request to add descriptive text. Owner: (Sykonurse?)

- History Pack option. Event pack with only A options in events to ensure historical outcomes. Enhancement request. Owner: (Steel?)

- Vichy has no ministers unless puppeted. Add cabinet in Vichy event or re-enable puppet command? Owner: (2Coats?)

- ComChi/NatChi doesn't survive. Enhancement needed. Owner: Steel. Fixes in test.

- Iceland event doesn't trigger early enough. Owner: Steel.

- Show traits (as initials) before or after leader name. Enhancement request. Owner (Generalisimo???)

- Denmark puppeted even if Weserubung cancelled. Owner: Steel

- French outrage events trigger at wrong time, reported to cause French restoration to prewar borders. Owner (Generalisimo???)

- Ethiopian AI doesn't garrison outside pre-war borders. Owner: Steel.

If I've missed anything let me know and I'll edit this post.

EDIT: N!ghtY, will you be looking at these two:

* the shortcut icon has white borders(Sorry, i wanted to make it transparent there, but it does look quite good anyway..)
* the music.ini file should be copied to the moddir by a shell command, so people with custom music-playlists have their playlist still right

this are the two event about the "french outrage about german agression"... they doesn't do anything about "peace" or anything like that, so they have nothing to do about that, it must be another event, probably the yugoslavian ones...

about that, i don't think is a good idea, the people that are working on the updated pack of ministers/leaders for 1.05 doesn't use that convention, so, to use their HUGE pack, we need to mod that every time they update that list.
Also, it is not that hard to pass through the leaders names and see their traits, i know that with big lists it is sometimes tiring to do that, but those lists will bring the most troubles to update them, and i do not want to delay a release just because i need to edit 100 russian leaders.... :rolleyes:

In that even t you get 10 DI for protecting the guest (action_a). I think DI bonuses aren´t shown correctly.

action b is a DI minus of ten and sleeping the freedom fighter events. both not shown, eh ?
what do you suggest?

what do you suggest?

Add something to the desc field along the lines of "The world is watching, giving in to Fascist demands will reduce our standing and ensure Italian hegemony in Ethiopia. Defying the Fascists will increase our influence as we will be seen as upholding the rights of independent nations".

No, i just deleted some more single events, miscellaneous events that weren´t part of a chain and that weren´t important. Ever since then i never had a memory exhaustion again, and i have done several tests, believe me.

So, all i did is reduce the total amount of events, but not in a big number, just 10-20 events. I don´t know if it´s the definitive solution, i find it strange that something like a bunch of events can cause a memory exhaustion in an up to date pc, but it seems to work. :confused:

I haven´t played at below max speed yet, i´m only making testgames. Maybe doing so will help with memory exhaustion problems, at least it seems logical for me, but i haven´t tested it. I´ll let you now if i reinstall core with all events and try playing at slower speeds.:)

Further observations continued....

I continued with my so called Germany CORE 1000 game (all resources/supplies/MP to 1000)

-to establish a real MP, historical of what Germany could field, you have to reduce your MP to 500, this might seem very low, but I was able to field 20 panzerdivisions, 140 infantry, 2 mountain, historical navy and historical airforce, and still had some 185MP left for initial German losses in the USSR campaign.
Fact is that with the events, so much more manpower is added and so much is added each month, that 500 is more then enough.
It provides the need to finish the USSR quickly, a protracted conflict leads to problems along the line, so that only a part of the front can be attacked in 1942 (Blue).

-Keep reducing your resources after victories against Poland and the west, you can actually start with zero resources, the WM has enough to offer and coal builds up very rapidly.
Make a note before you take a capital and reduce your resources back to what it was before, and this needs to be done before Paradox fixes this in 1.05;)
In this way, I was able to simulate the pressing need for resources, Germany then just holds it's economy at 100% until summer 1941.

-Took Norway and Denmark, some navy losses, USA takes Iceland didn't fire at all, I waited with annexing Denmark for 1 week, still didn't fire.

-I had a good campaign in the west, trapping 43 allied divisions in Lille, then focussing south and taking Paris so that Vichy triggered mid june 1940. France didn't become my puppet though.........

-I lost BIG TIME in the battle of Britain, decided a quick sweep of 1000 fighters would decimate them, no way, don't know what their losses were, but mine were complete, totally lost 10 BF109 divisions................:(

-Italy declared war on Greece after getting stalled before Alexandia, all sorts of divisions in Egypt, Dutch/New Z/Greece but no UK.......Greece tool albania, then quiet setteld until I declared war on Yugo in March 1941.

I've stopped and I won't continue playing, I am going back to Spain for a month, happy about that but not happy about not being able to play.
So, I will check back in a month or so and then I hope CORE rocks and rules even more, you are WELL on your way of setting a standard here for HOI, even one that Paradox might follow.

Absolutelly agree, i would make it that way and forget 9601 triggering 9602. 9602 should check if YUG is allied with GER each let´s say 10 days? and then fire.

Btw, is your solution tested? It looks good, and if the puppet commands work fine i would be happy to have those YUG events working again. That would mean that a similar fix could be make to the rest of the events with this problems, like the Italy surrenders-RSI chain.
