Yes, i agree, it would be easier and practical. It would be enough if it´s in a zip file with the extraction path so you only need to pint it to HoI directory. This way, you can select which files to extract.

Oh, i like the new fort sprite too!;)

Yes, you can. I've run many games from 1936-1947 without CTD/hang. The main issue that's not yet fixed is the Yugoslavian events in bolted.txt so if you are starting a game now you may want to comment out that event chain. I hope to post an updated hotfix file tonight that will include that fix.

If you do come across any problems then don't hesitate to post here again, we can usually resolve problems where a CTD occurs on or around a given date if we are sent a save game.

I ran into the exact same thing. It was one of the Irish events giving -1 loyalty to random Irish statesmen. I commented out those command lines and then it worked fine- I could continue with my game...

Well continuing with my game....

I declared war on France and Belgium. I invaded belgium and France and got the Vichy Event after capturing many of the northern regions, Paris and Vichy. I then quickly invaded England. I have captured all of England except the northen most province.

I then started getting Italian (They were Axis) events...oops I neglected there. When I looked I saw that U.S.A. and England controlled the southern half of Italy. Oh my. I checked and U.S.A. was not at war with me. So I declared war on USA and retook all of southern Italy except the heal.

This region was controlled by Italy and it said they were part of the Allies. I invaded but no battles have ever occurred. The German army has been sitting in this region for sometime along with the Italian (Allies). I am not sure why this is happening. Could It be because Italy (before they were split into two Governments) had loaned me a corps (which I still have).

Other than that I have had no problems other than a lock-up which could not be repeated. Probably just a computer Hiccup.

I am gonna try to return the loaned corps and see if that solves it. Be next week though.

One other thing...In Stony Road, A leaders special abilities are shown as initials withen their name. If possible it would be nice to see this in CORE, makes things alaot easier when scrolling through the leaders list.

I´m playing a test game as Brazil and i have a systematic ctd in 1-2 April, 1938. It happened 6/6 times. I´m using the latest hotfix released, with the new .ai files.

It´s not a memory peak, i think it´s not related to any event (the history was different, with no event near) and i´m not doing anything.

It´s strange because i made 2 test games before and i played until 41-42 with no problems. Then i got bored.

Maybe it´s something with the latest hotfix changes? (the last 2 gtest games were with the previous hotfix, the one without ai files). Maybe the ai is tryinbg to do something weird?

About early war...

Possible solution of early war after Communist Coup in Republican Spain - in event alignment change should be lowered from 150 to 50. It makes SPR less "red" and in result, less eager to join Commintern.

Generalissimo, could you add it to the list "to add" on the Hotfix?

BTW, I don't think hotfix is enough - we should post new release (0.21) with all up to date corrects, maybe option to install/not install post_war and test events, same with (historical/default pack). Posssibly in the next week.

Generally, we should post releases with smaller changes, but much more frequently - it's probably opinion of most of the players...

I agree. The hotfix was a way of distributing a known level of test fix so that we would know if it was effective or not. In the longer term it should be a new build installer if N!ghtY is willing, I don't know how much work it is.

EDIT: Can you just confirm as well this save game is from HOI 1.04 + C.O.R.E. 0.2 + hotfixes from last night? Was the game started after applying the latest hotfix? The AI settings are saved in the save file itself rather than reloaded from AI files so the latest hotfix pack would not update AI for a game in progress.

Ran another game, got different event outcomes but again no crash. Took a look at the history in your save file, you are playing Spanish distribution of HOI but with English C.O.R.E. 0.2 right?

I've emailed you a save game which contains two changes (one to AI settings, one to remove all events) - can you try it and see if it runs past the critical date.

This was one of faulty events, but I think it is corrected in hotfix (I'm not sure though, I changed it myself)?

Hotfix updated

There was a problem in the Ethiopia_Axis.ai file. You can either download and install the hotfix (I've updated the file on the web) or you can just search and replace this:

handicap = {

with this:

enemy_handicap = {


EDIT: This problem would manifest as a pop-up box and the game continues if you press IGNORE so I don't think it's related to any of the CTD issues reported.

NOTE: The new hotfix file also removes the Yugoslavian event chain for now. Waiting on permanent fix from Generalisimo.

I started the game AFTER installing the latest hotfixes. I run 1.04 + CORE 0.2 BUT i made a couple of modifications since my last satisfactory testgame:

-I use the spanish text.csv but adding the new country descriptions + the names for u01 (RSI) and u03 (inner mongolia). This way i can run HoI in spanish, though the events still are in english.

-I changed the Italy surrenders event chain a bit.


I don´t know how this changes could ocasionate a crash like this. Definitely the Italy surrender events have nothing to do, maybe the text.csv, but there´s no difference between CORE text.csv and my text.csv except the language . I´ll try to use the original and see what happens.

I´ll try the savegames you sent me, i´ll reply in a few minutes. Thanks for the help, steel.;)
