There was a problem with virtual memory errors (3MB/second RAM usage) causing a hang, some issues with alliance membership after some events and also an issue with CTDs. Some of this proved rather hard to debug.

Anyway, if N!ghtY says so then it is so :D

that's a problem, because if we modify the starting OOB's based on the new techmod (tanquetes and that stuff...) the people that only has the events will not be able to play CORE until they download the tech mod.... ;)

No problem, I've created OOB and AI files based on original CORE replacing basic ones - corrected events are also on the way.
So - basic CORE and optional techmod (more options - sprites?).

The problem starts when you would like to go back to original one - you will have to uninstall whole mod, then install basic CORE. But I assume that techmod would be so good, that no one would ever think about uninstalling it. :D ;)

Yes, all the events i make are shipped to Generalissimo with an English version and a spanish version, so i can help the translators a little. Obviously, if i rework some events text i would also make both language versions. In fact, i started to rewrite the desc of the Italy_core file events. I will need the agreement of the event maker, so when i finish this series i will post them for the approval.

About separate downloads of tech tree and sprites, i absolutelly agree!. They would still be big files, but i think it will be better. The sprites are particulary big, the selection i use in my game is nearly 2 Mb and it´s only a selection of the better sprites, if you take all of them it will be even bigger.

Is there any drawback to a separate distribution, ie would it potentially cause any issues if those sprites were not included? If so, can we not have a set of sprites which are included in the base package to cover those issues and then have a second downloadable file with those sprites that only replace existing stuff. RAR compression should reduce bitmaps to about 15% of original so shoudn't be too bad...

It's about whether or not we include sprites in the C.O.R.E. distribution, ie due to file size concerns should we maintain two separate downloads or not.

Some sort of sprite pack is probably a must, since in techmod you have a lot of new units (more than in original HoI) and standard sprites won't match those.
For now I'm all in text files (and sometimes in tech pics) - I would deal with spites later. :)

Twisted mentat reported it already, but I/m not shure anyone noticed itso...

The same happens when the soviets annex the Baltics and then are defeated by Germany and forced to accept the bitter peace. They have this event very shortly after and dow me all the time. No that I can't beat them, but it's quite unhistorical, improbable and simply annoying...

I think there should be a line added to the Bitter Peace, deactivating the Germans in the Baltics event for the USSR.
Cheers

A sprite pack is underway from my side

Maybe you would like to see current tech tree to add proper numbers of sprites to the units? I've posted current work-in-progress here .

Just one advice - this version still CTD's during civil_war events, and for now it's prepared for 0.1. But I'm not going to add new units (uh, maybe one post war fighter-bomber unit, but it's not priority now), so it's probably ready to sprite-adding. :)

About 0.2...

Hmmm, first play of beta 0.2 - CTD in 1938, Important Experience (GER) event. Strange CTD - it was not an effect of my decision, but game just CTDed 1 second after event window poped up. Invalid id's of commanders maybe? I hope it could help in finding bug...

Second CTD (after manual removal of Important Experience (GER) event) - 1 april 1938. Since I was playing Germany, it was probably some other nation event... :(

Sorry - last time I was here there was no such tread. :D
Ok, I'm moving on, officer... ;)

But I'm telling you, there is something on 1-2 april 1938 that kills game. Second game - the same result even after 4 reloads. :(
