Hey gents,

Have been a lurker on the forums for a while reading the aussie game MP posts, have decided to take the leap and ask if you gents would mind me joining the game as some minor country (therefore so I dont change the game dynamics of ur existing game). I have a 1.5mb connection.

Im a vetran of MP for age of games, cod and battlefield series but this will be my first foray into MP Hearts of Iron. Im aware of reinforecement change but can I clarify what version your running?

After you make the reinforcements change the version should be UPHQ. This shows up top right corner when first get in the game. Most of our games are at least 1941. Next session is Sunday 7pm if you want to turn up in vnet for a chat. keep an eye on the forums for new games.

Well a good session with Omni taking over the Russians and putting up a good fight.

Like to welcome Roger to the group and hope you enjoy the game. There is lots to learn in this game especially in MP. Invading from 1 sea zone with 9 divisions is one of them. You end up with -10 penalty for every divison in excess of 3. Also infantry suffer a -70 invasion penalty. Attacking into a mountain at Bergen as well is suicide . You had nearly -200 in penalties for that attempted invasion and I have about +100 in bonouses. You could have landed 3 divisions from each sea zone intersecting at the Bergen land province and they would have no stacking penalty and more punch than 9 from 1 sea zone. Try and not use the amphibious command but just unload your divisions when your ships are adjacent to a province. Anyway I wouldnt rush back in a hurry your undefended transports might get a surprise

There a lots of little things to learn we will try and help you as we go....

Well with Nolan obviously out now and gezeder not interested I suggest both our Sunday and Tuesday games be scrapped and another posted to see if we can find any interested parties. What say everyone else?

War report Italy Late 1941.

The war goes well. Italy has consolidated its empire with large forces guarding all fronts. US forces have massed in souther eastern africa and south of my positions in north africa. Large battles took place with italy easyily defeating the larger US & Allied forces. There are reports of low morale amongst allied forces in this harse terrain and talk of a stalemate. Could it be that italy has rendered the most powerful nation on earth helpless to push it out of africa. Hehe. Victory is indeed close.

Also a fleet of US TP's was ambushed in the atlantic ocean by naval bombers. 6 US transports went to the bottom in quick sucession. In other news Japan has joined the war.

As for new games. Why dont we make this game on tuesday and maybe another night during the week, and start a new game for the sunday game event though i think i can win that one. I happy to continue the sunday game if some one wants to replace the US (nolan).

Well to be honest I dont feel like continuing that game without the orignal US player..seems pointless to throw someone in to the deep end.

Ok if everyone wants a new sunday game then that would will be fine. Shame i was looking forward to to smashing the allies and the throwing everything against the russians. Major just dosnt want to continue becuase his manpower is exhausted and his armies are a shambles, wuss. I was really enjoying that game to.

Well it seems we will find out major, most people including me want to continue the sunday game. So it looks to continue to its conclusion. Funny how you would want to quit just at victory, yet another lie. Check the sunday thread. Leave this for the new game.

Also guys dont bash on nolan. Sure he has disapointed us but he was a good contributor for a long time, there may be other factors at work here as well. No harm done we have replacements.

is it in this thread that i sign up for games? i have the right version, 512 connection, can play at anytime, don't mind being a minor.
(it would be interesting to change the end date to 20-30 years later and see what comes out, let the alliance systems be whatever and no set rules after the games natural end 49. just a thought.)

Well its hard when someone quits...I am not a big fan of subs for major countries. If you smash them so what they just got lumbered with a country already ruined by someone else.

And I will play on if everyone wants to but I want my events already stated above and compensation for loss of IC production 2 years. If we are going to be fair about things.

We finish the game as is we have played this far we might as well actualy finish a game. You cant go demanding IC and extra supplies 2-3 years after we have been fighting. Germany also has less IC then the UK and alot less manpower then normal so its fair. Let me remind you this scenario was optimosied for Mulitplayer and for most of the game everyone was saying how fair it is. It is only now that alot of us are running out of manpower our armies are beaten up and the allies have tacken horrendous losses in the pacific and are about to in western europe.

Im sick of not finishing games. Im germany and apperntly getting smashed yet i want to play on and the victoriese russians dont and yet you demand IC and supplies, your situation must be indeed dire.

We have to finish this game. If we dont im out of all games sick of wasting time just as things are getting interesting.

Yes major if you have to build up manpower for 3 months and supplies for offensives sounds very much like real life, we really have to be careful were we spend our manpower, carefully laid out battle plans need to be done, and if im as weak as you make out, you should have no problem finishing me off in 1 session and then we start a new game.

Yes we should see the Sunday game to its conclusion then play a new game. The conclusion of all theatres, and I think we should all just calm down a bit.
