This will be a new game played on multiple nights a week with the goal of two nights per week more if people are free. So only commit to this game if you can spare two nights per week. No set number of players yet but would like 6. This game will be in addittion to the Sunday game and Tuesday game not replace it for the moment depending on what happens. Same start times of 7pm-11pm unless changed by the group for another session

I have decided most mods are not yet up to scratch to play in MP. So we will be using Standard HOI 2 with the 1.2 patch. The version should read UPHQ as we have changed the manpower replacement rate. Please make sure you do this so that there are no version differences when game time comes. If you dont know how to do this ill get some one to post how to probably major ball, ive forgoten.

1/HOUSE RULES Known bugs/exploits:

a)You may not serial build Province upgrades, rockets,aa, IC etc as version 1.2 has not fixed this bug.

b)No use of 'ghost' units for capturing enemy provinces etc.

c)No phoney wars (i.e. DOWing but not attacking).

2/PUPPETTING AND LIBERATING:

a)The Allies may not liberate any country till at war with the Axis

b)The Axis may not liberate any country till at war with the Allies(Japan may liberate Chinas)

d) Germany may not liberate Poland and France may not liberate countries till 1941. This is to stop ceratin events from firing which affect game balance.

3/ALLIANCES:

a)Allies and Axis can only join alliances with human controlled countries in their group ie Allies listed countries must join Allies.

b)Any human controlled minor country may join an alliance at anytime.

c)USSR cannot join allies and vica versa.

4/POLITICAL ACTIONS:

a)You may not influence or puppet a nation controlled by a human player without their agreement.

b)The UK may not DOW Japan (this leads to the USA being able to join.)

c)War in europe can start anytime

d)Japan may enter Axis alliance at anytime but must DOW on the USA also.

e)Anyone is free to bring a country to their alliance at any time.

f)The USSR can't DoW anyone until either Japan or Germany is at war with the Allies except if it is via and event. The USSR may DOW if a minor nation on its borders is brought into another alliance. USSR may not interfear in the China vs Japan war. All this is voided once Allies & Axis are at war.

5/TRADE AGREEMENTS:

a)No player may make any trades till the game is paused on the 7th January 1936. They may accept any deal offered by AI countries in this time. This is to allow traditional trades to be offered by minors ie Swedish ore to Germay etc

b)No economic warfare....UK,USSR and USA may not trade for rares in the first month of the game.

c)Any trade deals can be made or cancelled even those set at start of game.

6/NUCLEAR WEAPONS:

a)Can be researched and made at anytime!!!

7/SPECIAL RULES AND SPECIFIC COUNTRY RULES NOT ALREADY LISTED

a)To prevent mass evacution of French troops from France prior to Vichy event there is a limit of 6 divisions of French troops which may be in Allied territory other than French.

I'd like to play if possible. As I've said before, I've played lots of SP, but little MP. I'm in Brisbane with Optus Broadband. At the moment I have standard HOI 2 and TRP installed.

Well good to have you on board im currently looking at TPR, very interesting. Do you have any feedback on TPR as to its stability or crashes and so on. Do you find it alot more balnced then vanillia hoi 2.

At the moment, I haven't played enough TRP to know whether it's more balanced or not. There's big bugs at the moment with Vichy France at the moment- crashes, german units disappearing. They'll be fixed some time.

In balance terms, the BIG change is that in Total Realism Project the US has it's historical IC- it's a monster, over 900 base IC, and the peacetime IC penalty they have is only -38%. Sure, they have events that prevent them from building Carriers and increasing their neutrality, but with 900 IC who gives a damn- you can build a fleet composed only of superheavy battleships with that much IC.

Japan's changed a lot- you now have the Kwantung Army, which controls Korea and Manchuria, but ATM the Kwantng Army isn't really any help at the moment (not enough leaders).

As to the European theatre, it's a bit difficult to say- there are a lot more events controlling things, but I can't say whether or not they'd make things more balanced or more frustrating. Britain get's a lot more events about the abdication crisis, USSR gets events for the 5 year plans, France gets events to build an extension of the Maginot line, the benelux countries get events that push them closer to the axis if france builds more of the Maginot line, closer to the allies if Hitler reoccupies the Rhineland etc. I can't really say whether it's more balanced, but there are a boatload more events.

These are the rules me and major made up Nolan, its to restrict forces from both sides until war breaks out. Eg no german troops in africa and no CW troops, Just british and italian, nothing unfair about that. If either sides wants more forces there then they have to move the troops there when at war giving both sides the chance to stop them. It is very unfair for either side to build up huge forces from all over the world pre-war.

Yes a rule for the USSR may be wise, but should it apply to all nations or just europe, why cant the USSR take out persia, or afganistan at there own risk of course?

Well i would like to aim for two nights per week, i dont think we would manage more then that really. But it will not be a set night as such, we will arrange nights that suite all. If one week people are busy we will change nights. So times and days will be flexible. Would really like you onboard gez, this is low rules game, what you wanted.

As for the rule Nolan. What we mean is there will be No German troops in africa until Italy is at war with the allies. No CW forces until UK is at war with Italy. To prevent huge build up by both sides and to allow a bit more realistic war for awhile anyway with gradual buildup.

I can aim for 2 no probs - though in parralel with Tuesday game, 3 nights a week is probably more than I can cope with :(

I can be free Sundays, & Mondays-Thursdays, but can really only spare 2 nights a week on average I'd say...

If that's okay with everyone else, yeah I really do want to play in this game. But I really can't commit the 2 days a week until we wrap up the current Tuesday game. Mabye we could play 1 day a week until the Tuesday game is finished?

Well thats a good idea Gez, i think playing 2 nights a week plus Tuesday + Sunday may be to much for most people.

So once the Tuesday game is over we can go from 1 night to 2 nights for the new game.

Being doing researching into some mods for this game. TPR 0.6b (total realism mod) is still in beata and not balance so good for us yet.

HSR 2.04(Historical Stoney Road) mod is a far better option and up to version 2.04 and well balanced now. Here are some balances they do.

Ive been looking into a few mods. HSR 2.04 looks great alot of balancing issues are done here. Naval bombers strength is greatly reduced and cag air defence are doubled. This helps make carriers alot less vulernable to air attack and get sunk quick. (had these balances been in our current game Germany would still rule that waves) The USSR has severe penalities with the Purge events, plus its reasearch further restricted to add more balance to the game and actualy give germany some advantage in tech. Subs have been rivised, doubling there naval attack but reducing there org to like 2. This simulates the subs doing there first strike and then running, so subs wont go toe to toe with big surface fleets like currently happens. They would do hi and run and more convoys attacks as they should and this is how i use my subs. There have been very good reports on this new sub system far more realistic and balanced.

Alot of these improvements are aimed at getting people back to actualy fighting fleet battles with ships instead of using masses of the way overpowered naval bombers. Air combats have also been tweaked to reduce the mass stacks that do happen, eg 4 stacks of 4 planes fighing another large group, now more penalities for each plane over a certain limit.

Lots of events just like CORE used to be. I would love to play the CORE mod but it will be some time before CORE will be playable in MP. There only realesing there first version maybe this month 0.1 so dont expect it to be playable in MP until version 1.0 So to long to wait for me.

What do others think who want to play in this game.

Welcome abourd Boumsong, just checking, but do you have a broadband connection? I'll put you down for Hungary now but a few nations may change to balance the teams up.

Also i have updated the rules to reflect more clearly the restrictions on CW and German forces in africa in Rules 7a & b.

I have also added a rule for the Russian player due to concerns raised by a number of players in our rule discussion thread.

Now as for a start time. Im think of Monday, Wednesday or Thursday next week. Once our tuesday game has reached a conclusion we could fill that time slot as well. So what days suite to kick this game off for the first week.

France, US or Commonwealth Minor I suppose. I'd almost certainly stuff up the UK- there's so much to do! But with the US, you get a long time just spent building up, which isn't really all that different to SP.

And with France, no one really expects you to be able to do anything, so if we survive for a long time, it's good anyway!

Looks clearly like an Axis attempt to gain an early advantage in the Med and the desert to me :)
