If they did ban you after a report, it'd be toxic behaviour, which is (at least in my opinion) what he was talking about, rather than "honest opinions".

After all, you can say the same thing *very* different ways on here.

For example, I might tell someone that I disagree with their idea for a change to the game, and think it is sufficiently bad it will damage the game irrevocably.
Or I can tell them that their idea is a stinking pile of shit, and that it would ruin the game and cause the entire playerbase to abandon the company forever.

Now obviously you're nowhere near that last, and I *am* exaggerating for effect, but I have seen some discussions get to the point where similar comments, with much more personal attacks were being made - it wasn't the *idea* that was a stinking pile of shit, it was the other person.

And, by the way, I apologise for the tone of that from last night I wasn't fully engaged with my brain.

People are never banned for not being liked (if I would ban anyone I didn't like then this forum would have less then 2 members:)).People may get a temporary ban for not following the rules set in the Terms of Service. But you would have to break them a couple of times before that happens.

But giving your honest opinion or critique in a polite and civilized way is perfectly fine.

Beyond that though it sounds like it's still a WiP.
what is meant is the elimination of choosing for example 1077, 1089, 1143 or whatever you want, not the multiple bookmarks

I can live without that for now, as antipopes and investiture quarrels are implemented badly in CK2.
Precisely the reason you'd have thought they would have been reworked and improved for CK III. Of all the features either cut or not brought back, this is the biggest disappointment to me. This game has been in development for something like four or five years, so you'd think it would have made the checklist. Nomads and republics I can understand, but the Pope and papacy were key to both crusaders and kings, so for his mechanics to be overlooked on release is a real shame.

I'm curious to see how religion works. Are there light changes to a religion that can be made that won't usher in the wrath of everyone around you? All the religions have slight regional quirks or diversifying schools of thought with otherwise common core principles.

I can understand starting the 30 years war over some gender equality, since that would be ridiculously radical (I also hope gender laws are a major religious tenant), but I don't imagine being invaded over a bit of mysticism.

I like nearly everything I hear here! I'm not at all a fan of religions that can be radically changed, but I'd be alright if instead of actually changing the religion it simply spawns a heresy. The Church can then declare war on you, your nobles could rise up in rebellion, and foreign rulers can then take away all your land. That would work pretty well, and be a challenging aspect of the game to manage!

I'm worried they won't do that, that they'll make it too easy to change and that other characters won't be that reactive to the change (which, is to say, try and ruin your nation because of it).
It seems like the region does react to your heresies as would expect, and you should expect quite a bit of bloodshed for a heresy.

However, there are times in history where nobles or rulers themselves have started the heresy. The choice over what the heresy is should exist (because what is stopping the emperor of a pan-European empire from refusing to recognize the Pope as a legitimate authority other than the risk of a massive rebellion?)

Things i dont like so far: 1066 start date as the only one at launch, i have never played on that date unless its multiplayer. I go always for the earlier one so i can play more hours.

The rest looks amazing so far, i'll miss the plagues , but i can live without them. Cant wait to play as mercenary, even if its on a later dlc

There would have been a big long list of features for consideration, old and new, and a lot of debate about what could be delivered on target and what should be grouped together for DLC. My guess is that it probably *just* missed out and may well be in early DLC. It might be they're planning a broad "Religion" expansion and needed something major for the Catholics.

It's not like the Papacy will not exist. If you play without Sons of Abraham and Holy Fury switched on in CK2, you still HAVE a Pope and mechanics for his replacement, crusades, bishops etc. And we don't yet know how things are going to run with heresies and custom religions... there may be a way of making a defacto Antipope along the lines of the Fraticelli one.
