How about the choice of our Idea Group would have some effect on Advisors we get.

That would spice up the game a little bit.

There could be some special Advisors tied to Idea Groups that we would get acces to only by unlocking that idea group and getting the first idea.

After we unlock the first idea in a Idea Group we would get the new Advisor right away in the pool so we dont have to wait for the rng to make him show up.

Some examples of the special Advisors i thought of (ofc some of them can be considered op or too weak and it would have to be tested) :



Religious : Admin Advisor : +2 papal influence (also scaled properly : church power, patriarch authority, fervor etc.)

Administrative : Admin Advisor : -5% coring cost

Economic : Admin Advisor : Development Cost -5%

Naval : Military Advisor : Chance to capture enemy ship +20% or Heavy ship combat abbility +5%

Horde : Military Advisor : Army movement speed +25% on flat terrain

Maritime : Diplo Advisor : Army attrition on ships -33%

Exploration : Diplo Advisor : +50% Native Assimilation

Expansion : Admin Advisor : +5% settler chance


That's just few of my ideas, if you guys like the suggestion please share some of your ideas for Special Advisors i would love to see some.

I personally like the idea, but the modifiers would have to be chosen carefully, as the admin advisor would be chosen 100% of the time (in SP), making the idea group even more dominant. The same goes for military modifiers and the development cost for multiplayer.
