Great report, Sapura!
I love your choice of nation. It soothes my fears, even though it sounds like you're in a bit of a bind.
You were allied with Poland AND had a royal marriage? They must have been afraid of Austria or something to refuse to honour their commitment...
How long does the Baltic Campaign last? Perhaps you were a bit too hurried to go on the offensive after one mere year...
Not having played the game it is difficult to offer suggestions. However, Sweden's meagre cash flow is definitely its main weakness. I would likely begin by expanding trade for a few years, and perhaps securing some especially rich province on the Baltic coast if the opportunity presents itself (e.g. if the Teutonic Order is attacked by Poland and Russia).
Possibly (depending on the cost), I would try to found a colony in some choice part of America in the hopes of rich future trade.
After that I would strive to annex Denmark in a series of wars (historically a special Casus Belli should hardly be needed between these two countries, but in the game I suspect it might pose a problem). Good allies against Denmark would be Holstein, England and possibly the Hansa, Poland or the Teutonic Order. The reason I would attack Denmark before Russia is that the Danish provinces should be easy to assimilate, plus Scania is pretty rich and populous.
I would not attack Russia head on without having taken (and subdued) several provinces from Denmark (especially Scania, which is essential during agricultural crises). It is probably a good idea to ally with Poland ASAP though. War with Russia is as inevitable as it is fun.
>See, Doom, I told you cavalry does the trick
Oh, I know. The Swedes did learn their lesson in 1600-1609. Charles XII was pretty cavalry crazed.
Keep the reports flowing!
