I was a bit disappointed to see that the ping-ponging problem was not fixed.... The fact that an army can retreat from a battle when it has 0 morale without suffering any losses is very annoying. I'm forced to let them siege a province for a month so that their morale goes up before I can attack them. Otherwise we just go back and forth between provinces without losing any men at all!
...
Also do the AI ships get attrition now? I still see them crossing the Atlantic and going straight to South America to explore whereas I need to go through Iceland-Greenland-Canada to discover America! Then I need to set up a colony so that I can discover South America. It seems pretty unfair.
what do you all think?
I love the patch by the way. It has improved the game SO much!
I don't see why, normally, an army in good order can't retreat the 1st 5 days, but a routing rabble can.
And I can see why the ai's ships might be exempt from loss by attrition, but (& I've said this before), I do not see why EUII's mechanism, where fleets returned to port automatically, if their attrition was too high, was dropped here. & IMO, AI fleets should do the same, even though they don't lose ships in the process.
