the 3rd German Campaign
And so here we are again fighting the Germans. At the time that the war started I had three armies in position with a forth on the way. As I mentioned before my goal is to break the South German states, so that once the real war begins with Prussia, then we won’t have any trouble with the other German states.
After one month, the plan had evolved into a race between the 1r Cavallerie and the 3e Cavallerie to wipe out the Bavarians. Meanwhile the 4e Cavallerie was instructed to capture the capitals of Baden, and Würtemburg in order to force those two states to surrender. The 5e Cavallerie is on it’s way, and when it arrives it will be responsible for any other little states that are left.
By December 2, 1846, only two months into the war, the Germans were starting to crumble.
Meanwhile however the 1r and 3e Cavalleries were making progress in northern Bavaria, but the progress was very slow.
More good news came with the surrender of Würtemburg
This allowed the 4e Cavallerie to join in the attack against Bavaria, and things quickly turned into a rout.
By January of the next year Bavaria only had two provinces left, and was ready to talk peace.
The peace terms reduced Bavaria to three provinces, and with that the Belgians ended the 3rd German Campaign
