networking for dummies required

Hi everyone,
My statement: I have very little knowledge about networking computers.

I have 2 computers, both with ethernet card, one runs NT and the (other my friends) has Win98. Can we setup a multiplayer EU game? Is it easy? What software do I install?

Ack.... So you have the cards but are not on a network? If this is the case then you can buy a pretty cheap network kit for about $50 or so that will give you a small hub and software to set up a local network.

I don't know about cables..I've always wanted to do that..but there never seems to be enough info aound on it.
