Nesting Personal Unions? What do I do?

I'm playing as England. My monarch died and I was inherited into a personal union with Portugal. This led to a war between Castile and Portugal, and somehow now Castile leads a personal union with Portugal and Portugal leads a personal union with me. This means I can't declare war on Portugal because "We share the same overlord" and I can't declare war on Castile because "I can only declare war on the leader of my personal union." All three of us now have a the same king. Any idea what I can do? It's an ironman game so I can't use the console or reload anything.

:rofl: What luck.. there is not a lot you can do other than wait until one of the PU's are broken, or pdx fixes it.

That's what I was afraid of hearing. That's unfortunate. This is also why I never play in ironman, because every time I do the game breaks in some way.

Or hope Russia gains a PU over Castile for the full Matryoshka doll effect.

It has to be a bug, you should be able to declare war to Castile.

Castile should inherit the PU with England and it does not appear they did.

This bug should be reported with your savegame.

Well, in any case, you can de-ironman it.
