I agree with you, cloves being 8 value is a bit much, especially due to the fact that only like a dozen provs can spawn it.
Like spices is 3 for comparison, a value like 3.5 or 4 makes more sense.

Cloves has a maximum of seven provinces it can exist without modding, I think that scarcity balances out its high value.
Yeah except when u have goods produced modifer on those provinces, manufactory and u dev it to 11. Deving cloves can give better return than gold mines. For a spice that historically was nothing special in terms of price. As i said, it's just DLC powercreep and makes indonesia scale too hard in mp.

Like yea cloves can have a higher price than spices but the price of this good is completely unprecendented before this for any 1444 good, and has no events to decrease its price like Coal does, so even if it can be useful for balance in some situations, you cannot deny the fact that this is powercreep from 1.31, and the fact that it wasn't more expensive than other spices like in-game suggests a nerf.

I mean ginger is a spice, do you think that'll be as expansive as cloves which were locked to the spice islands for quite awhile. Malabar pepper is what spice represents in malabars provinces, but pepper could be got from more than just malabar
