China has been, for years, "investing" in African and Asian countries, with Chinese companies buying up tons of African land to use it and send the resources back to china. This has only expanded with the One belt one road initiative. China loves to criticize the west for imperialism, yet china is the greatest imperialist power today.

It is pretty ironic given the Maoists' criticisms of social imperialism. I guess according to Dengists there is no problem with it since it's the highest stage of capitalism

It apparently allows building a railroad for them in exchange for heavily indebting them (Kenya). There is a treasure trove of information over at the China Uncensored YouTube channel.

Keep in mind those host governments are accepting these contracts and selling their country's natural resources to the imperial power. Often time anti-imperialists forget the majority of the blame goes to their governments, rather than the imperial power.

Well for one, the IMF is not a sovereign state. You can argue the IMF indirectly props up Anglo-American power by pressuring developing countries to pursue US-friendly economic policy, but in China's case it is much more directly like the relationship between, say, the UK and Egypt before occupation. It's one state gaining direct leverage over a weaker state.
