Awesome improvement with the subject interaction, makes managing vassals (or bullying them) much more fun. I wish to see a similar idea extended to neighbors, allies, enemies, and enemies of enemies as well to make the diplomacy game much more interesting.
For example an idea is with each country you can gain influence points either due to being friends with them or being enemies and destroying their nation in consecutive wars. With those influence points, you could influence other nations, ex change opinions, demand tribute, non-aggression pact (truce), forcing a diplomatic actions (ie vassalization with a negative opinion). This way is similar to the religious mechanics, another possible way to implement it is with something similar to a independence desier, depending on the actions, it depletes a diplomatic meter that refills and differnet speeds depending on modifiers
The main reason for this proposal is for a diplomatic system that makes it so allies do not turn against each other without any notice and for improbably diplomatic actions such as peacefully vassalizing an unwilling nation. For example, in a recent Sweden game, after 50 years, I managed to get my house to rule Muscovy and on one occasion almost got a PU, which fell through and became a 14 year regency for them... However, in a small war against Novgorod (in which I took 1 and game Muscovy 1 province), and left Novgorod with about 100 development which is still a lot, Muscovy went from +200 opinion to +78 opinion then changed their attitude towards hostile and ended with -98 opinion, breaking the alliance and royal marriage...
