Is the negative opinion received when one holds too many duchy titles moddable? I couldn't find anything in the files.

Also is the defines.txt file in commons working, as the _CHDEF_BASE_NR_OF_CHILDREN_PER_COUPLE_ doesn't seem to work because I sometimes get way more children than two.

It's in common/defines.lua Mess around with the demesne size variables. The one you want to change is probably DEMESNE_BASE_MAX_SIZE

Edit: that wouldn't remove the disadvantages of going over the limit, but it would increase the limit.

Isn't this for demesne size and not about the duchy titles?

This is WAD. The base-Number determins which is the average Number of Children a couple gets afaik. This is modified by the stats of both parents however. So it's very likely you'll see couples that have more children.

For the too many duchies I don't know and I cannot look right now because I don't have CK2 on this pc. Will have a look at home if no one finds it till then.

I would guess possibly not since the entire intent of the modifier is to more or less force kings to give away duchy titles and deal with more powerful vassals. One of the bigger exploits in the original CK was to just gobble up all the duchy titles and keep only count level vassals except for your intended heir. This made realms much more stable as counts had almost no chance of breaking free successfully.

I thought that number was a max for non-landed people.

I agree that this limit has a good gameplay effect, but ideally it'd be tied to the number of Ducal vassals you have, e.g. you can't hold more than 10% of the Duchy titles in your Kingdom(s) without a malus. Maybe still hard-cap it at six or seven, but it seems surprising to me that it's not moddable anywhere...surely it's in there somewhere?
