After a short break, I load up my most recent game hoping to continue what I remembered to be a pretty fun and interesting game. Then I notice my current heir is SLOW. He's a skilled tactician has 8 martial and 1 diplomacy and 0 everywhere else. I was hoping to starve him from having kids so I married him to an old woman who gave me an alliance to the HRE, seemed like a good deal. She was 40. What were the odds of her having kids? Well, she had 1! Luckily it was a daughter and I'm agnatic primo but then she died shortly after. I thought I could give him a bishopric when he came of age but you can't do that with your heir it would seem.

So right now, I have this 21 year old unmarried dolt heir, his brother with no bad genetic traits is 18 who will marry a genius in 8 years, and my ruler is 47.

I'd like to get rid of my Slow heir somehow and was wondering what the possibilities were, gamey as they may be. I didn't want to kill him since I would risk getting Kinslayer...I think, I'm not sure how it works since I don't often kill my kids or family. Do i get it if I'm discovered, does it matter? I thought maybe I could send him out to get killed battle but that never seems to work out when I want it to. I'd raise my levies, throw the tiny levies of about 200-400 one at a time with him as leader. He'd get smashed but live through it. Maybe there's a trick to it?

I'm open to a lot of ideas. It seems like this would be useful information for me in the future.

Well.. You could switch to elective and just get your younger son elected...

Otherwise you've pretty much got to murder him, unless you can somehow get him stuck as a bishop somewhere (will not be possible to do to your main heir yourself, but if he leaves for another court there might be a chance).

If you choose to murder him, you'll only get the kinslayer trait if you get caught, and well you could just wait a few years til your ruler gets older and then have him murdered, should be manageble :)

Marry him matrilineary to some higly populated muslim court. They usually take care of infidels there, especially if there are few zealous chaps.

You could send him into battles and hope he becomes incapacitated or killed. You could change your succession law to elective and simply change it back later. Alternatively, you could change your succession law to seniority as a last resort and change it back later.
