Need solution to PU forced on me.

Well the title says it all i wanted to make the basileus achievemnt and after i conquered the topper half of greece because i was in a royal marriag with poland i got instnatly PU and my king died (i didn't have any heir because of a random event)
Now i am stick under poland as Minor in PU and can't fight an independence war.
What options do i have?Support my hier to their trhone? is that even doable?
Try to fight an indepence war? Thy have lithuania as minor pu,bohemia as ally ,mazovia and moldavia as vassal totaling up to 50 k of troops against my 14.
Try to lower relations ? Does it work to break Pu's that way?

I need a good solution or i see myself restarting again..

fight them, or restart. You can ask other countries to support your independance, and they will become allies after you started the war. Ask Muscovy, Denmark, or whoever is rival or enemy of Poland. The option to "ask for support independance" is a paid feature from a previous patch though. If you don't have it, well, restart.

Next time you have popup you can fall in PU, go to war immediately, it will prevent falling in a PU under another country.

@atwix I took your advice and fought them with independence granted from Muscovy and Hungary(Austria was freaking frinedly with them and didnt wanted to support me).I think that was the biggst mistake in my entire life.
I started the war when they attacked riga and the teutonic order(20 k troops in total small) and the fact that hungary didnt join the war was one but from nowhre Denmark,Sweden,Norway Sichila and an minor german country joined a war scaling 120 k to 40 k.

The ony thing that made me struggle this war out was that they went full retard in Muscovy and got attritioned to hell alotugh muscovy lost me 10-15 warscore.
I used tons of money from my coffers ,i wasted in this war 1.200 g on mercs and going 3x over my forcelimit just to obey the 15 stacks coming from Moldavia,Mazovia Poland and his attack dog Lithuania.And aftrwards even sweeden decided to come for me and they started siegeing my capital ,but because muscovy made white peace my warscore just boosted enough to accept the independence deamands.

All in all the luckies independence war *(austria woudlve supported my independence in 20 years cause they rivaled poland after they annexed teutons) and my 1.500 gold that i didn't know what to spend on came very handly.

BUt on the main point,isn't there any other way to break the PU this way was incredly costly and now the ottoblob started conquering alot of lands while i coulnd't do anything to stop them..
There must be more viable ways of stoping Pu's.

Why should there be such things? It's how things work - your king dies heirless, the closest relative/claimant inherits. Thank your lucky stars you didn't get PU'd by someone like France.

heh why did all those countries join in? Did he make alliances with all of them during your independance war? If not, i don't get why sweden and everyone else would get called in. You didn't set all of their allies as co-belligerent right?

Oh wait a sec. You are orthodox. Probably the defender of the catholic faith got called in, and he became warleader? Then its possible he called all his allies in.

Is it normal defender of faith gets called into an independance war? That sounds... weird.

Well, at least you fought interesting war and you are independant again.

But it could all have been avoided if you had made sure you couldn't fall in a PU. If you get the icon, go to war until you get heir or a new king basically..

OP, just for future reference, a PU can also break if their ruler dies when they have negative prestige or if your opinion of them is negative when their ruler dies. That is all dependent on luck though. Declaring independence is the only active way to oppose a PU.

I WOULD REALLY LOVE to have my own opinion of them but for some reason paradox thinks i like them 170 cause they keep on improving relations which sucks hard,also sometimes i wont be able to do anything cause "i" am not suppose to like them ,but i am missing all the fun if i can't use all my strategies because if there was an ai in my place it wouldn't like them.Never got the system where i cant do something because my country doesnt like them and i neeed them as hell for smth.
