Not sure if this is the right place... But I'll continue in the hopes it is.

Currently in the middle of a multiplayer EU4 game, players playing as England, France and Burgundy (now Netherlands). I am France, the year is about 1640 and England played the colonial game while I was busy in the HRE and now I'm falling behind.

I have a monthly income of about 160, England in the last 10 years raced up to 130. They own All of North America (apart from 3 provinces I annex with a vassal) and have recently vassalised the Incans. France owns 80% of the Iberian peninsula (aragon is a free state, lisboa is Portugal's only mainland province and Galicia my vassal owns about 1/3 of the rest). Recently started expanding into North Africa, taking Algiers, Tunisia and vassalising a tiny Mamluks (they own 3 provinces, Ottomans ate the rest.). I also own 90% of Italy outright, and am pretty much Emperor for life (removed 3 electors, vassalised 2 of them in the 1400s).

Problem is my AE is through the roof, as high as 600 with Aragon and Portugal really hampering my progress to fully claim off the peninsula. half of the HRE hates me to the point of coalition, the other half (of the 20 remaining) just hate me.

Netherlands is not an issue, they seem inept, not bothering to build a navy despite owning all of the Caribbean, Ivory coast and the cape of good hope.

My question is, how can I undisputedly get back on top. My expansion is slow due to AE, England can colonise 3/4 provinces at a time with no hassles, They own all of the gold provinces in America... We're playing a "friendly game" so no war or other general screwing other player nations allowed.

I'm on time for tech, maybe 1 ahead or so (about 19 across the board). Ideas are: innovative, diplomacy, offensive, quality and trade (3 taken so far)
Colonisation is not an option.

Since the late 1550s expansion has been slowed to a crawl despite 75% of expansion being done via vassals. My plan was to stomp the ottomans, but I'd only get 3/4 provinces per war then the coalition would form. Its not that I can't beat a coalition (240k troops) but its just such a hassle...

Help anyone?
-I know some of the limitations are a bit stupid, but they are the rules, I have to live by them.
