Just wanted to confirm the info from TMP 0.2 that colonies still only contribute one third of their IC to the Parent country total?

Can anyone comment?

Also, there are some inferences that India may have some sort of special status, such as qualifying as having "home provinces" for the purpose of this rule.

All comments and hints appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Of course, confirming this info is important as the UK attempts to improve its industrial capacity before war breaks out.

Actually, colonies don't have a special status, there's 3 types of provinces in HoI: national provinces, owned provinces and controlled provinces.

IIRC, owned provinces only contribute 1/3 of the IC and controlled provinces only contribute 20%...Not really sure of the numbers though.

Yup, owned provinces give 33% of IC and controlled 20%. Note that the various ministers that increase IC's from non-national provinces are added and not multiplied, so you can end up with upto 48% of a non-national province with the right minister. Resources are not however, they are dependend on the difficulty level (from 60% on easy to 40% on very hard).

India and the Dutch colonies are special cases however since they are considered national provinces even though they are colonies. From the 1936 uk.inc file
#India - "The Jewel in the Crown" is National. UK should get full yield from IC there.

Great Help as usual, Robert.

What is the difference between an owned and controlled province? Also, there was a time when there was a time delay for the owned and controlled provinces to ramp up to the levels that you have indicated. Is this still so?

The main "special case" associated with India is that since it has no land connection to the capital it will not give any manpower while Britain is at war. Normally it would give full manpower since it's provinces are all 'national' for Britain. This is not really a special case; it just happens that no other countries have significant numbers of disconnected national provinces.

Every country has three lists of provinces: owned, controlled, and national. Owned usually means provinces they started the game with + provinces of countries they annexed or received by claiming (although scenarios starting after the war has started may have countries starting in control of provinces they don't own). Controlled are provinces that have been captured from their owner but the owner hasn't been annexed yet. National (a.k.a. core provinces or claims) are provinces that are considered a "natural part" of that country so they don't cause any problems with reduced IC or manpower and if owned by another country they can be demanded diplomatically.

Yes, there is a delay after capturing a province.
