I just bought my copy of crusaders kings 2 and the launcher is not working, it crashes right away, yet I canplaythe game if I go directly to the exe in steam folder, but I want to play mods so I need the launcher, but it just won't work, tried reinstall cache verification etc etc nothing works, HELP PLEASE

what happens when you fire ck2game.exe directly from the folder?
have you tried rebooting your PC?
when steam asks you to install some things when you first boot, do you accept?

cK2GAME.exe directly same situation, the launcher just stops responding. By the way I have a clean install no mods nothing and I still can'tget the launcher to work.

i'd try to:
1. delete local game files
2. shutdown PC
3. boot it again(so actual shutdown, not restarting)
4. try to install it again
other than that, what operating system are you running? if youre running win8, try running it in compatability mode, but if youre running mac or linux i really dont know what you should do.
considering the normal EXE works fine, i really cant of anything else to do. if the problem persists, you need helo from someone more knowledgeable than me.

If he's running Linux, he probably wouldn't be having this problem because then he wouldn't have a launcher to have crash.
On that note, I seem to recall that there's a way to use launch parameters ("file path" ~parameter (in this case, something specific to the mod)) to make CKII use mods without the launcher.

The most common cause of Launcher problems is the Windows .NET framework. Visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates it wants to.
