I had just finished editing the revolt file to make Cuba a playable nation from the start of the game. I then went to the db folder to check out the Cuba events folder but discovered that such a folder didn’t even exist. So I decided to create a new event folder for my country and use Spoonist’s Event Builder Program to script new events. But for some reason, the Event Builder Program will not load my events into the Cuba file I created. In fact, even when I manage to manually place them into the folder, none of my events will function whenever I run a game as Cuba. Could someone please help me with my situation?

You have to tell the scenarios file that you are playing to load the Cuba file. Open up the eug file for the scenario you are playing in the scenarios folder. Include your Cuba file with the other events files.

Thanks for the advice. Now I can select Cuba from the list of available countries at the start of the Grand Campaign scenario. But for some reason, Spoonist’s Event Builder Program still will not allow me to load any of my Cuba events directly into the Cuba.txt file that I created in the Victoria\db\events folder. Even when I manage to manually load the events into file, they still will not run during game play.

I'm not familiar with Spoonists event builder program. I write out all me events by hand. :) Do you know what file the event builder saves the new events to? If you know this, just copy and paste the text from one file to the Cuba event file. Also, remember that the event ID numbers have to be unique. I would reccommend starting in the 500,000 range for your events to make sure that no other events use them.

You are bloody brilliant, Stonewall. :) I took your advice, and everything works perfectly now. All that I had to do was load my Cuba events into the file that Spoonist’s Event Builder Program constantly specified and later cut/paste them into my cuba.txt event file. I also started in the 500,000 id range for my events as you suggested. In the words of Marcel Proust, “Let’s be grateful for those who give us happiness; they are the charming gardeners who make our soul bloom.” :D :D :D :D
