I went to war with a determined exterminator that rose up and defeated a neighboring empire, I defeated the machine empire and took several planets and habitats, their population is being purged. As the war was progressing, I noticed my energy and food outputs dropping, and my alloy output staying the same; I realized this must be because of lack of population on the planets I was taking. When the war ended, I found several of my own planets had employment shortages, but also had ruined buildings. Why is that?
Also, I am trying to abandon most of the planets I captured in order to get my economy back under control since energy is now -270 per month, but I don’t know where I should send the few pops that are on those planets, all are administrators or specialists. Should I send them to the planets with unemployment? Or to colonies that have no unemployment? Also, at this point in the game, the only planet I have with all buildings slots filled is my capital.

Tips as each building slot is unlocked with every 5 pops. This is the whole pop on the planets so as the robots are dismantled it will ruin buildings best to demolish these as this will help with the devastation and wait till pop grows.
Also unemployed pops you went to send them to planet with high stability and happiness. As unemployed slowly drop these as these drop it effects all resources produced on that planet. This will help with the energy loss and help with pop growth.
Also check what standard of living your pops are on in the policy section and invest in the harmony tradition to increase stability and speed up pops changing job tier tc

Thank you, didn’t think about demolishing the buildings or to look at stability before moving people. I ended up mostly solving the problem by sending pops to new colonies, abandoning the worlds and habitats I conquered. I have since recolonized some of them. What really threw me off was the ruined buildings on my own planets but still having unemployment.
