Need help with "Pearl Harbor event"

Hi!

Im playing a DD game(N/N) as Japan.

Im doing ok, have puppeted China, attacked and annexned the Netherlands, Australia(puppet), New Zealand(pubbet), India.

Its 1941, oktober.

I think my navy is ready to take on the USA, I have 9 CV and 5 CVL, and two Super BB.

But the Question is, will the Pearl Harbor event fire, if I declare war on the USA myself, or will i have to wait for an event ?

I think ill need those two months it last(it is two months right ?), so i can invade Guam, Midway, Johnson Islands, and hopefully the Hawaii Islands(even though the US have placed a lot of divisions there).

Hi,

in my games do far, there was always an event: Japan dowed UK, US & NL.

May be it still comes in your game (just wait till Sylvester '41) or the triggers for that event are no longer "true".

The Pearl harbour event only fires when Japan is at war with the US. There is an AI event that gets the japanese to DOW the US and the pearl harbour event would fire soon after. The event can happen anywhere between 39 and 45 it gives bonuses to suprise for all your forces.

The pearl harbour event should trigger the day after you DOW the USA. (both events). This gives you loads of surprise bonuses and slider adjustments. The surprise bonuses end after a period of time but this is essentially random - the termination condition is 10% chance every 60 days so you should be able to expect nearly 2 years - does this work properly?

So just that i understand this corretly.

If i dont do anything, ill get an event that makes me go to war with the US, and then the Pearl Harbor events fires.

If i declare war manually, ill NOT receive the Pearl Harbor Event. Or ?

If you do not declare manually, you might never get into a war with the USA. If you do not declare war manually before 1945, you will never get the 'Pearl Harbor' event.

If you play Japan then you must delclare war on the US, after you declare war then the Pearl Harbor event fires.
