im having a problem with this part-the research part. it says that it cant read the light_cag lines. any help? pm for my complete files.

Probaly the easiest thing to do is drop the light carrier stats so when you add a regular cag the sum total is half the strength of a regular carrier...or mix and match fleet & light carrier stats until you find a good balance.

Spocky has done a CVL mod already I believe which has done most of this work already.

i want to make my own version though ;). ive never modded b4 and its a good stepping stone. how do other mods like CORE make their own units though. btw, could i completely change other brigades like nav torps as they suck so bad.

Yes, that would be how you'd go about creating a new CVL attachment.

i was also gonna make a "defensive fight group" cag (which we will call dfg). basically, its a cag with fighters only, giving enourmous air attack/defense but mediocore convoy attack and little sea attack. there may be a light 1 but idk, i made the light cags a) attachable to fleet carriers for flexability reasons and b) mainly fighters. the airattack/defense is close to regular cags but shorebombardment sucks. also, light carriers will be called escort carriers and will have good sub detection/attack (better than fleet cags) because escort carriers were good at sub hunting.

btw, heres how the cags will match up:

early-early improved-basic advanced-improved H.advanced-advanced semimodern-semimodern and the turbojets line themselves up.
