Hello just playing a game with two friends, I'm burgundy and my friends are the ottomans and Portugal. This game is a death match so whoever has the highest score wins or who knocks out everyone else. As burgundy im going to form the Netherlands. Im just wondering how I can beat two players who will not suffer the reformation and how to beat the Portugal player in colonisation and trade even know he gets a head start.
Thanks

I can´t offer much advise on colonization, but if the objective is to be top dog, then I would consider knocking France down and take their Land!!(or became then if you wish)
History favors the bold, I assume you haven´t started? or haven´t played that long?, if you haven´t started then I you can take advantage of the HYW as a distraction and show then hell, the AI Burgundy is no push over in EUIV since they are able to secure a lot of Allies, as a player you can take advantage of the mercenary bonuses, take A LOT of loans and crush your enemies!!

if successful, you have beaten your only true rival, take in to account this can only work early on, if you give then time, allow France to consolidate, unlock there Ideas, etc then is they who decide the initiative, do you wanna risk that?

Weve played for 5years and France has almost won the Hundred year war. They are at full strength, I am allied with Castille and have a few vassals, I might be able to beat France but as I will form the Netherlands my French lands will be ceded to France I really want them cancel vassal and release nation weakening my greatest threat. With Spain as an ally France would have a tough time defeating me.

Neither one is in the HRE... so as said above, vassalize a few electors and grab the empire seat.

Beating up France works as well, be sure to check if you can drag Castille in though, since it'd be tough otherwise. And beware of the Portugal player backstabbing Castille for some free provinces halfway through the war.

You attack the provinces when you know that the Emperor is at war himself, so he cannot exert his influence over your actions. Preferrably you diploannex them, though.

If you control three or more cardinals and have Curia Controller by the time the time the Reformation hits, you'll get between zero and one province flips even if you're basically surrounded by reformed countries.

You can't beat player Portugal at colonization, no ifs or buts there.
