I am pretty new to HoI. I have a plan for an ahistorical game and don’t know if it is possible to do it. I don’t know if its possible to do some of this, and I am sure I have missed out important things I need to think about. Here is a summary of the plan and problems, please advise.

What I to play as Germany. I want peace on the western front for as long as possible and Poland in the axis. Is it possible to get Poland to join the axis? If so how would I go about doing it?

Assuming I can get Poland in, I know I can get Hungry, Bulgaria and Romania in. However when Barbarossa starts my front line would consist of Memel. I know I can move troops through my allies but I have heard this may cause supply issues. Is that true? I plan to DOW Yugoslavia and break it up between the axis nations; perhaps I should use the opportunity to invade Romania? This would give me a German occupied zone at the extreme north and south of the advance with Poland in the middle. This would also make sure Romania does not grab the best bit of the Ukraine.

To get Poland in I will need to back down on the Danzig or war option. I think I remember this stops the winter war occurring. With no winter war would I be able to get Finland into the axis?

When I do advance westward. Do Belgium and Holland start guaranteed by the allies? Does this ever wear off? Same for Norway and Sweden, does the guarantee ever wear off? Is there a guarantee on Denmark? (I am in work at the moment and can’t check). To avoid war in the west I am very much restrained by these guarantees.

If I leave the attack on France to long do the possibility of the Vichy event expire? If so when?

If I was to leave the USSR unmolested eventually they will DOW on me. Is the same true for the allies? If I strike east will they take advantage of my weakened boarders? And equally, If I get the bitter peace will the USSR stab me in the back when I turn back west?

For this to work (assuming its possible) I am not going tom be able to ally with Italy or Japan because both will eventually set me to war with the UK. Does this mean I should not sign the anti-commie agreement with Japan? I understand if we are not allies the bitter peace will not require Vladivostok taken, but if we sign the agreement will they DOW Russia without being in the axis? (Does that question make sense?)

If I leave the west late I will be leaving sealion late. The RN will the have advanced base strike doctrines and therefore uber carriers. For me to compete I will need to ditch my sealane interdiction in favour of base strike, but my tech teams will suck, so I need blue prints to compete. How can I get them without allying with Japan?

Finally, is there anything else you feel I need to consider?

As Germany you should have enough money for spies, you can spy heavily on Japan+USA to get Base strike blueprints. Good luck, and tell is how it went!

It's usually possible to get Poland into the Axis. just make sure you keep influencing them, and maintain trad with them.
Attacking the USSR through Poland and East Prussia will cause supply issues, especially as the territory you claim will be mostly Polish.
My advice is to influence the UK and Poland in an attempt to keep them from allying.
(It also helps to keep the beligerence down.)

Slight change of plan.
Managed to ally with Poland suprisingly easily.
Yugoslavia has too many gaurantees to avoid war, Romania is gauranteed by Italy, and post anschluss I have a boarder with Italy. So when I am ready I am going to lauch simultaneous invasions of italies norhtern industrail provinces and grab Romania through my Polish ally.
If I took the normal route I would get Polands 30-odd IC, grabing Italy above and including florence and its neighbour will get me over 40. But occupying is less IC friendly than annexing (40% IC and 50%IC respectively I think). Normally I would Italian and Romanian soldiers helping in Barbarossa, this way I have Poles and Romania oil instead, plus a route into France other than through the maginot or Belgium. This game is differant in details but seems to have few benefits over a normal WW2 route so far
