Hi team,

Background: I've been playing EU4 (and some CK2) on my Surface Pro 2 using only the pen as input for a couple of years now. I know I probably represent two tenths of F all in terms of users doing this, but this was (and is) an awesome way to play if your not going for 100% seriousness.

Problem: It turns out Stellaris has no way to zoom the map without a mousewheel. In EU4 and CK2 there were the +/- buttons near the minimap, but Stellaris has nothing. This means people like me or some other folk on the board that use touchpads or ancient mice are pretty well stuck.

Suggestion: Add an in-UI control for map zoom as was in EU4 and CK2. I know this isn't high priority, but I feel as though it should be achievable without too much work, and hopefully can slot in without cluttering things up too much.

PS Awesome game P'dox. You've all done a great job.

Are you talking abt zooming to Galaxy view then system view? I use the E button more then my mouse wheel.

I'm talking about scrolling to go from a close in view of a planet's moons out to being able to view a whole system if you're in system view, or going from a view of a few stars in your area to seeing a whole galactic arm in galaxy view.

To switch between system map and galaxy map I click the button on the right hand side of the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Basically everything I do when I'm using the Surface has to be clickable.

Ah ok. Zooming in system I use my Middle Mouse button but you can use the E key to look at the galaxy then E to go back.

Yes, but I can't use the E key, because i don't have a keyboard in this case. I literally have the equivalent of a 2 button mouse. Left click, right click, or move the cursor.

The game is 100% playable like this, except for the inability to zoom. Which is why I'm suggesting the +/- buttons which are present in EU4 be added to the UI.
