Yes, simply edit the .eug file to include only the country you wish to play.
Playing as the Aztecs as single major now, not much happening in my part of the world, an occasional spanish army marches by without doing anything.

Was it ever established how this could be done with saved games? I edited the major=yes to major=no and even edited the 3-letter codes at the top of the saved game to adjust them, as well as editing the .cfg file just in case. However, when I changed the 3-letter codes at the top of the game, it caused it to crash. Once I restored that, the shield has silver around it but it still does not allow total annexation.

Has anyone successfully edited a saved game to permit annexation of a (formerly) major power?

' I don't think the 'code' is written to where one should not have an advantage over a mojor power if one earns it... IMHO'

Do you know of a nation (from 1400's to the present day) with constant wars that did not suffer from instability, revolts, bankrupcys or terrorism ?
IYHO did you even consider these facts or have you entirely missed that this game is actually supposed to somewhat realistic ?
A country, through time, needs PEACE to really prosper and the game reflects this.

'what hartmann said a few posts up, that you can control the rebellions in provinces you have lost to the enemy by adjusting the religion slider, IMO needs to be fixed. '

I too second that. It should be the controllers religion slider that should matter, not the province owner. Time to start a for patch 1.07 list, Hartmann ?

'oh yeah, and how can i add a signature, ive already registered and i dont see how to add one after the fact'

Check under 'Profile' (not PROFILES on top bar) close to the top of every page.

No you can not totally change a major into a minor in a savegame.(You need to remove all references to it in the saved ledger data too)

Well, the religion slider will be frequently used in multi player if not fixed that's for sure.... ;-)

I mean who want to loose against someone else and the feature are there... Or was it bug..... Or.....

If I play Sweden and Russia takes my hard earned Finnish parts, I will make a REBELION with all means available...

Then at least we Swedes for a moment would have monopoly over the hand phone market ;-)

@brendiaz & bmolsson:

I already informed Johan about this issue and especially the effects on multiplayer games a while ago. A first measure was taken in 1.06 to counter the oddest effect of a player refusing peace treaties while he has NO provinces left and at the same time trigger rebellions through moving the religion slider in hope of getting rid of the occupiers. Now players cannot refuse a peace treaty anymore, if they have NO provinces left. But maybe more should be done...
