Ok, now I play a game as communist Yugoslavia. As I have conquered Bulgaria (annexed), Romania and Greece and a bit of Poland (damn Molotov-Ribbentrop pact!!), I find myself with a decent amount of factories, a lot of oil and aluminium and nearly no steel. So I think: why not build up the air force? The licensed model from the soviets is nice, but I could do better.
There is a focus which gives 75% reduction of time ahead penalty for fighters. So I (near the end of 39) research the 36 and the 40 model and then want to start research of the S-49, the 44 model. My thought: if the time ahead penalty pushes the time to about 600 days, with this focus it should finish in perhaps about 200-250 days, a really acceptable time frame for 4 years ahead of time.
Obviously, my calculation was wrong. The focus finished, the 40 model is researched and I look at the time for the next model: 2 days. TWO DAYS!!!!!
Perhaps the tooltip is wrong? NO! It finishes in exactly two days. I cannot afford rifles because of ... reasons ... (steel shortage in Europe? come on ...), but the world's most modern planes are obviously developed in Yugoslavia - and in the blink of an eye.
There seems to be something seriously off in the bonus calculations. In case this is behaviour by design, I did not report it in the bug forum. What do you think?
