I wonder if you can build extra on top of the existing what if ships, and if you can speed up work by allocating more resources. I'm going to need that carrier for Sealion to stand a chance and 1942 is just too late.

Well then start building a carrier in '36. That's what the '36 scenario is for, to give people an alternate build-up to the war. By '39 the die was pretty much cast.

As someone who contributed to the German Naval OOB & is responsible for this particular error, I can tell you that the problem has already been found & fixed in the German OOB. BTW, there is also a missing "}" in the file that has been fixed (in case anyone points out that mistake). I feel so bad for making such elemental errors!

Lol, so it wasn't Greven who did this? We blame everything that is wrong in the OOBs on him :)

The Graf Zeppelin was started in 36, and launched in 38. http://members.tripod.com/EFaust/grafzepp.htm

Its a shame that the completion date for this ship seems to be set in stone for 42. One of the main reasons for the delay was German procrastination on the ship.

Being a programmer myself (for the pleasure), I know that those typing fault are easely made, and very annoying too.

I think that the projected date for the completion was 1940, but like you say there were delays. I think most of the problems weren't about the ship more about the planes that would go on them and who would control them. The Luft. weren't happy about giving up their planes to the KM.

My above post was from memory, I've just read Conway’s 1922-1946 and it states that the ship was 80-90% complete and should have been ready for commissioning in mid 1940. However in May 1940 work was stopped in order to divert resources to the U-boat program. But I'd consider May to be mid 1940 so why wasn't she ready by then?

So, the big question is...

How will the navy look for Denmark? :D

We had a fleet, you know... Not the largest, but it was there!

By my guess, it would be along the lines of:

2 light cruisers (2 Costal Defense ships - about 4,000 tonnes)
1-2 destroyer flotilla (11 torpedo boats, 19 minelayers/sweepers)
1 submarine flotilla (12 submarines)

Does that sound unrealistic?

Some links to back up my story:
