Navy Stacking Penalties

I know that a fleet can have a maximum of 4 carriers, and anymore than that there is a penalty for overstacking . Is there a penalty for overstacking other ships like battleships, destroyers, etc.? Or can I have as many ships as I want in one fleet, as long as the fleet doesn't exceed more than 4 carriers?

You get a positioning penalty if your side of the battle has over all more ships but there is no stacking penalty per se on non-carrier ship types.

The only stacking penalties are for carriers

And the carrier penalty applies to the battles, not the fleets. So if you have two carrier fleets in the same battle, you still get the penalty

Actually, you can even exceed 4 carriers, provided you manipulate plane types for it to be beneficial. Basically, unless you're of opinion that unescorted naval bombers is the way to go, the limit is actually 7 (until you bother to double that).
