I was trying to be clever yesterday.
Seeing ~50 French Brigades in French Algeria i decided to rush (1865-70 "rush") to Ironclads and use the brief naval superioriety, without needing to build a hundred ships, to enable me to fight the french giant(#1) on equal terms in brigade numbers(im Spain) while 40% of his standing army, including one particular formation consisting of 9 Guard Brigades, was rotting in North Africa.
Smart me had a dozen Ironclads and then it was time to pay the French buggers for constantly meddling in my SoI. A fleet of 9 Ironclads blockaded North Africa and was waiting for French fleets to massacre.
They came, 12 of them(ships, not fleets), with a premium Admiral(+3 naval attack), just like mine. They buttraped me. The fleet consisted of iron built ships with steam engines.
Steamer Transports. duh =S
it seems lvl 2 naval doctrines(those not for gaining new types) + 1 lvl3 doctrine(4th from the left, not sure) gave an advantage of 11 naval organisation(what does this number exactly mean?
) 4 naval attack and an odd point for the hull compared to my lvl 1 techs. Spain is not blessed with masses of RP and so i had to concentrate on key techs and all that.
Just thought id share, im sure theres some more Vic1 players used to invincible new ship types ^^.
