I never quite figured out the best way of constructing a navy in Hoi. I have experimented with several naval methods but it seems as though when carriers are involved, no other ships gain kills in the Orrigional HoI II. I started with doing either Destroyers/Light cruisers (8-12) Heavy Cruisers (6-8) Battleships (4-6 and most usefull for amphibious operations) and Carriers (4-6). That was my origional fleet desing but carriers were the only effective weapon, so I rebuilt my fleets to have about 5 Battleships, 10 Carriers, and about 10-15 Light Cruisers or Destroyers (depending on my current IC situation, but I prefer Light Cruisers for the extra protection). Same result.

Now, we are in Darkest Hour, I dont know what to do with my fleets, though it seems as though Battleships are actually usefull for Naval warfare from my German campaing were I built Carriers and Battleships to Invade britain in 1941, though my invasion of France almost failed due to having the bare minimum amount of Tanks I would have liked for the invasion due to Naval expansion. Now I was wondering, what should my fleets look like? I want the right ballance. Also, are Battlecruisers in both DH and HoI II usefull or a waste of time? What about cruisers which always seemed to never do anything? Should I build light cruisers or destroyers for air protection? Are old ships usefull if you have good docterines?

Basicly, I understand naval warfare but I want to get it right.
