As far as I can see there is only one model for each ship type, will there be any changes before launch?

If you mean SPAAG/SPAT/carrier aircraft style variations then I don't think such are currently planned for ships.
he probably means the 2d/3d models in general.
The answer for that would be probably later. I dont think that that is highest priority at the moment.
