So I'm playing as france, the year is 1936 and I am war with Germany in a 1v1.
I have over 110 ships, split into two task forces, patrolling two sea regions to gain naval supremacy so I can execute a naval invasion, but all I'm getting is 0% supremacy with the "We know too little about this region!" message. I keep hearing about how I need Intel Efficiency at 30%, but how do I even increase Intel Efficiency? I've had these ships on these missions for months, and I'm still below 30%.
Also, I have enabled automatic split off, and the fleet is NOT set to "do not engage".

From the Wiki:
Strategies if it's not possible to get 30% naval intel efficiency:

If there is nothing that contributes to naval supremacy in a seazone (Enemy supremacy is 0), you get naval intel efficiency 100%. A strategy is to finish planning of a naval invasion, send your ships out to get naval supremacy and start the invasion, even if you do not have enough naval intel efficiency. If the enemy is changing orders of fleets you might get 100% naval intel efficiency for a moment. That short moment is sufficient to start the naval invasion.

It's not guaranteed to work. You might wait forever if the enemy AI keeps some ships assigned on mission in the targeted sea region(s). But it's the only known workaround.

Yeah so basically what Paradox has done here is just screwed people who didn't buy La Resistance... I can't even do a naval invasion now without crossing my fingers that those enemy ships engage mine and somehow get intel efficiency over 30%. This is pathetic behavior from Paradox. I ain't buying that shit I'll just have to roll back the version.

To be fair, even with La Resistance, you may not have had the time or resources to do all the spy stuff necessary to obtain more than 30% naval intelligence in order to naval invade in 1936. I don't have the DLC either but I understand that doing spy stuff takes time, uses PP or CIVs or both...? So it's not a cheap, instantaneous shortcut.

I don't think the current situation is the result of a nefarious scheme by Paradox to push people to buy the DLC. It's more likely that the naval invasion rework that was part of the free patch (Husky) and leveraged by the LaR DLC, was rushed, not well balanced, nor well tested. That's how it feels to me, judging by the UI's very helpful tooltip: "We know too little about this region!".

I find it frustrating and annoying. I do not have LaR and don't intend to buy it.

I think it might help if you have multiple task forces going into and out of the region.

I think the naval invasions need work anyway. I see too many naval invasions happening. Denmark gets liberated and keeps naval invading East Prussia with two divisions. Italy storms the beaches of the low countries. If the allies garrison 24 divisions in Norway, Germany still repeats failed invasions. Kind of neat but not exactly realistic use of resources.

But US invade Okinawa or Iwo Jima? Can't do it without a spy or the Japanese Navy showing their hand. Which they eventually do.
