It would be great if as a naval nation you could hire out not just your armies but your fleets, this was done from time to time historically, the best example I know is of when the declining Byzantines hired out the Venetian and Genoese navies in an attempt to help them thwart the Turkish aggression.

I would love to see the same system that we have for Condottieri rolled out so you can also do it with your ships, there still needs to be a lot more depth in the naval side of the game, while features are gradually increasing there still needs to be more done.

I believe this feature would not only be fun but also allow naval nations something else to do during peace time other than hunt pirates.

I honestly believe that having fleet Condottieri makes more sense then army because they would have been used more by loaning out fleets and it would also make it where fleets are way more useful for having other ships then trade ships.

I think it would need a different name to Fleet Condottieri, something more appropriate but a system that would allow you to rent either fighting ships or transports would be great. Although I imagine it would need some balance brought in when it comes to transport ships. I can think of quite a few times where ships were rented out to various nations, especially for the lower risk naval operations like blockades and transportation.

I have done some on the spot research and come across the term for these being the Contratto d’Assento with the the sailors themselves being called Assentisti for hired out sailors, I've not yet found an appropriate word for a full navy yet but will continue looking, It looks like good sources are mostly from Genoa and The Papal States. :)
