I would like to see an option to decide whether to use CV, CVL or CVE or not. When a battle joins and if one side has a long range unit like CV/CVL/CVE and the other side does not, the side with the carriers could be given an option to remove those units from the positioning for the battle.

There are times when you may prefer to close the range and let the guns do the talking. Especially if your doctrines for carrier use are poor or you only have a lone CVE, for example. It is frustrating when your task force of a CVE, 2BC and accompanying light forces encounter an enemy with 2CL, 4DD and 5 transports...just to see your lone CVE not even sink a single ship, but if you closed you could have wiped out the whole force for a little return damage on your own fleet.

OR when your Subs find some unescortet TPs and cant sink them because the range is 200km.
