I read somewhere that the level of expansion of the naval base had some effect to how far away you can colonize, although I have never noticed this[...]
Why are most of the key aspect of Paradox games always like that?¿?¿
Since the times of the great Hoi1, the process always goes like this...
1-they state something that looks rational on the manual in an earnie&bert kind of language...
2-never ever! give any especific about it whatsoever
3-me ending up asking in the "paradox support department" a.k.a. a free service offered by what looks to me at least as amazingly smart guys with a lot of free time that write in the forum
4-I eventually come to the conclusion that nobody really knowing exactly if it works that way, any clear specs or whether or not that has been changed in the latest patch, expansion, mod or mini hot fix.
5-me finding out that either way it doesnt matter cause it doesnt seem to have any effect in the game, despite what all say.
I for one under the moffo believe that the customer is always right dogma is followed by anyone else than me, demand A manual full of specifics and begone all the vague generalities to give it great reading value!
that would be the day!
Ps.
even forum guys ultimately end up having to make a usefull manual for the game!!!
I wish I could do that at my work...hehehe
Ps.2.
Adding up to the existance of the colonial building..coaling station (looks like someone forgot to mention in a meeting that there would be unlimited range to avoid adding more complexities to an already ultra complex game)...Yesterday i discovered that my ships have a "range" atribute! Its something quite funny to see in a game in which sadly all naval units have unlimited range!
(the need to coal for coal powered ships conditioned a lot of engagements and IMHO the outcome of more than one conflict)...
