Few enemies of the Uesugi/United Nations remain, and most achievements are done.

I remained within the grasp under Ming for an embarrassingly long time, to avoid a coalition.
Monarch points were in a complete excess, I hovered around 22 bonus in ahead of technology. Most ideas(outside of those in the diplomatic category) felt inefficient as the administrative ones are irrelevant and the military ones, in particular those who boost generals, as you can recruit 3-star generals from your many vassals.

I wanted to test the Ming mechanic regarding vassals affecting tributary costs and I hoped my vassals would lower the mandate gain of Ming(which was not the case).

I hoped it would be a leaned back. "let my vassal swarm do the job", but it turned out to be a spam popup fest of rebels and DOW.

Mechanics:
  • Seppuku = free points (literally had 60 popups in 3 months of DOW, = 60*3*3=540 points)
  • Threaten war, as you cannot DOW on vassals claims
  • Daymio do not take up Diplo slots
Notes:
  • Develop for Renaissance and Printing Press(And colonialism if you don't grab it)
  • Use return cores until Imperalism for cheap, low AE wars.

Nice run @steppeulv, very impressed you managed to get to the end through all the pop-ups! I had a similar run with Shimazu when MoH first came out, and by the time I'd turned all of Africa and East Asia into my daimyos my game started running so slowly that I gave up on it :p. Definite highlights for me were the supreme power of +income from vassal ideas and policies, in addition to consistently having generals with 3+ siege (got a 6-4-5-4 from Persia I seem to remember)

Didn't they all end up fighting each other? I once started doing the same, but finished as soon as I ended with 2 Chinese vassals instead of 4 newly released ones. :)

Yeah, a bit annoying, particularly early on when you need those vassal to return cores. They will for the most part not attack each other if you are at war.

Yes, I must confess that I experienced similar issues but decided to experiment with turning units showing up on mini-map off, which you can imagine being quite laggy with all the small armies wandering around, seemingly random at times. Opening the Diplo screen and peacing out took me around 10 seconds.

It's unfortunately pretty hard to distinguish what's happening. Could you just like, talk about the general guide and major cheeses involved in the strategy you took to use in this campaign?

No cheeses were used, nor necessary, you do not need some crazy MP cheese, PU cheese, HRE cheese, CCR cheese and so on. What could you possibly need, overextension is not a barrier either, your only barrier is military power and peacetime to dole out land and release vassals. Pick ideas which give you improve relations so you can remain friendly with vassals/diplo-vassalize and avoid coalitions.

I can recommend this run if you want to experience the mandate of heaven and asia, or/and if you are tired of WC's revolving around CCR, MP and PU's. It does require a slightly above average PC(I am running an older 970 GTXG1 by Gigabyte), and some patience regarding scrolling through 200 countries to give control of a province and other MM.

Did you force-convert your vassals? I am just thinking whether Shinto One Faith is easier with this strategy.
