A huge problem in EU3, at least early on before numerous xpacs, was that there were no gold-sinks for the new world and african natives, leading them to have huge amounts of gold by the time Europeans reached them. Euros could then easily farm them for gold, repeatedly robbing everything they had for ridiculous amounts. From playing the demo it looks like this is still going to be an issue as I see some natives with 5k+ gold. A friend playing the modded demo as Prussia even robbed CHEROKEE, certainly not the richest of native nations, of 4800+ gold when he reached them. Not sure how to fix this, but it is kind of lame that colonizers can farm them for huge amounts of monies and pretty much never have to worry about their budget again. Natives really need some kind of gold sink to spend ducats on.

And that is quite historical I would say..At least if you rob Aztecs and Incas..Spain had so much gold taken from native territory that it collapsed from inflation at certain point

Note that in this pic he had less than 100 gold before this peace. Kind of a major boost.

Except you don't get inflation from getting 5k+ gold. And this isn't the aztecs and incas, its cherokee, or random african minors. In one of my games, according to the ledger Mali had a little over 13k gold sitting in their bank, waiting to be taken.

Uhm... Do You have an early access to game? Because posting screen with this exact year nominates You to ban... At least that's what moderators said.

Seems like an AI problem to me, if they don't spend it all on advisors. If they are getting that kind of money while having level 3 advisors, then I am concerned.

It was Gars if I recall correctly - Hacking the executable for later dates isn't allowed though.

Really? And in this other thread it was said that any editing of the demo besides common modding is verboten. But my information is most likely older than yours.

Well, you can change the playable nations through "common modding" (just changing the name of some text files). You cannot unlock the time limit, though.

Johan said so in the same thread :p Then this thread disappeared...

It was Gars if I recall correctly - Hacking the executable for later dates isn't allowed though.

Hm- Johan answered on my own post it was something like:

me: "You know that unlocking other nations is like very simple mod"
Johan: "Yes, I know it's trivial and I guess everyone is doing this. Just don't modify executable."

(of course I can no longer find the thread, so it's not perfect citation...)

But You're right about removing 28 years restriction of course- it's about modifying .exe file indeed.

General warning, there are several posts in here showing screens and discussing playing with countries not available in the demo, or beyond the end date of the demo.

Please note that anyone doing so will be banned, as this is considered piracy. If you are in any doubt, refer to the forum rules before posting.

If you have any questions, send them by PM, do not reply to this message.

It was posted before thread disappeared...

Honestly- it's quite a mess currently, so it'd be best to ask moderator what's going on. I'm only quoting (as accurately as I can) what I read in response for my own post.

At least tomorrow at this time we'll all have full version of EU4 and no one will have to unlock anything, right?

Well, that happened really often during the exploration era, when rich natives gave gold to Conquistadores and Conquistadores in exchange gave them some pearl or... Cold steel :p
