US is the equivalent of Russia in EU2 - it is the only European-culture country to border frontier provinces no one else can grab.

Russian colonies in the Pacific were really pathetic, I don't think anyone saw them as a threat. But your suggestion fills my imperialist heart with pride.;)

I don't think that Britain will be to easy to play. She couldn't really impose her will on the continent without the help of a strong ally.

Mexico might be a fun nation. Might be nice to take a chunk of the U.S. once the ACW happens, or side with the south and change history.

Japan will be another intresting nation to play.

Well are you going to be able to play nations that form during the game? or will you have to start a game and switch countries once the country forms, like the Netherland in EU2.

It would be cool for us Canadians if you could start as Upper Canda and eventually switch to Canada.

Canada might seems boring, not too many wars other than the Boar war and WW1, but it would be interesting building the railway and the nation in general. Well it would be interesting for us anyway...

I think Japan would be cool to play too. You'd start rather backwards but towards the end of the game you could warmonger agaisnt China and Russia, and maybe have a go at grabbing some other colonies from England, France, or the Netherlands.

You are kidding, right?

Nothing more exciting than watching how your nation is breaking apart when the calendar hits 1848 :)

And of course, then rebuilding it again, smearing your military machinery with the blood of the revolutioneers...Muahahaha!!!:D

Hmmm.... Nations to play

Japan, build up my economy and get a bigger fleet then Britain.
Netherlands, keep/conquer Belgium and get my former colonies back from Britain.
France, reclaim all pre-Napoleonic territories and conquer the colonies lost to Britain.
USA, build up the superpower and beat up Britain.
Any nation in India and drive out the British.
The Boer republics and ofcourse driving the British out of South-Africa.

See a pattern here? ;) :D

I will not play USA (guess this counts for all games). Hmm... you have created a difficult thread here. There are far more nations that people don't want to play, than nations people would like to play (I think, as there are so many nations to play, like in EUII). Every non-influental nation in their region is rather boring to play, at least in the beginning when you're not an experienced player.

I will surely play Russia a lot! And choose all the communist/socialist options in every event that have such an option :D

Well, there is no way I'd play as Britain for purely personal reasons. Also I can't say that France would interest me to much either, although building up a new Napoleon Dynasty would be pretty sweet.

I will, of course, have to play as the United States and build up a power so great as to utterly destroy the UK in the coming wars(maybe I'll intervene in the Beor War or, maybe, I'll just launch an unprovoked attack for fun :p).

I'd also like to create Germany using either Austria or Prussia, either of them would be pretty damn cool in my mind. Russia would also be kinda fun as would Japan.

I dont know sitting around as the Third Republic trying to get vengeance on the big bad German Reich would be fun.
