I hope that Paradox would use the names suitable for that era. IMHO, Ptolemaic Empire is better name for that nation than just Egypt.
well, i wonder if ptolemaios will survive much beyond the first 10 years... as seleucos concentrates all forces there aiming for full annexation. Then solidify.. beat rebellions, deal with a few bb wars..

I think there's certainly a lot of fun nations to play..this is one of the few PI games where I will probably try almost every nation...need game now plz..beta AARs? Maybe I should put that in my sig...

But that's just a guess on my part, and that would apply equally to the Seleucid Empire, for instance. Then again, it would be kind of hard to come up with an "alternative name" on the same level as Egypt for that particular state.

If they make the rulers of egypt "egpytian" that would make no sense however. IDK how they are handling it, if they do it the CA (Rome Total War) way I will be DEEPLY dissapointed and will be waiting for a mod.

I agree on preferring historical names or their translations, but using the names of the dynasties isn't very appropriate when naming a State in the game. Unless that was the official name of that State back then or we simply have no other name that would suffice.
A note about Ptolemy's screenshot: supposing Martial will act much in the same way it did in Crusader Kings, what does Charisma and Finesse do?
Keep people loyal/more popular with the masses and Finesse perhaps...good at diplo/assassin missions?

My main point was that such a name, regardless of how correct it is, might end up suddenly sounding very wrong if the Ptolemies ar ousted in, say, 200 BC and replaced by a different dynasty. Tying the name of the state to the dynasty might be better, but could be a bit clunky to handle I guess.
